With just about 2 weeks until my recital, I think I would still be freaking out (regardless of this pandemic), but this situation has added so many crazy variables and I want to make sure everyone involved is safe and comfortable. My planned program is very full, and I knew coordinating several chamber pieces was going to be a challenge, but now with self quarantining/social distancing it is a difficult decision for myself and others whether it is better to meet in our small groups or just wait it out. Plus, the added fear that my recital might not happen on the date it was planned (let alone this semester). One of my coping strategies is to create a list of what is planned and what is uncertain so that I can clearly see in a physical space what is unresolved. It may not fix any of these recital, work or class issues immediately, but I believe it’s a solid coping strategy.
