[ 🧩 ] what’s a truth about themselves they refuse to admit? For Chris
Three truth that Christopher refuses to admit is that not everything is his fault. He strongly believes that his father dying and his wife dying is somehow is his fault and he feels like he can never forgive himself for that. No matter what his siblings tell him. He also refuses to believe that he should be allowed to fall in love again, like he doesn't deserve it after what happened with Iza. He is starting to believe that anyone that falls in love with him either leaves or dies. His last truth is he feel like he failed his siblings, his father and the Sanders name. He tries his best to be there for his siblings, his children and the rest of the family but he just feels like he is failing.
"Chris!" Iza called out there was something. She could feel it. But she didn't get a response. It had been raining off and on all day but she also knew that wouldn't stop her husband from working. Making her way towards the door, the feeling that something was wrong didn't change and it only grew when she could swear that she felt blood running down her leg now. She made it to the door when she collapsed.
Dakota had been heading to the house to see if Iza or Chris needed anything for the day plus she had to speak to Greyson. That was when she seen the door open, and she knew something was wrong the moment that she seen Iza laying there, instantly running to her side. Getting on her phone, she tried to call Chris but no such luck. "Iza, sweetheart. It's going to be okay." She told her. Lifting her head onto her lap as she called 911, getting off the phone with them. "Greyson!" She yelled out, hoping that he was around. "Eloise?! Anyone?!"
That was when Greyson rounded the corner. "What? I didn't --" He didn't even finish his sentence when he noticed his aunt and sister in law. "What can I do?! What happened?!"
"The ambulance won't get here for a bit. Help me get her to the car and then go and find your brother. Tell him to get the hospital as quickly as possible." She watched as Greyson nodded his head and helped her. "Go, now." Seeing him nod, she moved over to the driver side. Fuck the speed limits. They weren't useful right now. Starting the car, she started driving towards town. "Stay with us, Iza. Hold onto to the little one in there."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I may have done that." Chris stated with a small chuckle, hearing Dawson chuckle also as they finished up the fence. They were on the northside of the ranch. Hearing the hooves of a horse, he glanced towards the sound trying to figure out who it could be. When they got closer he noticed it was Greyson. "Works finished already, wonder what's going on."
"Chris!" Greyson yelled out, out of breath.
"Whoa, whoa what's going on?" Chris questioned, looking over at him.
"It's Iza..Aunt Dakota is taking her to the hospital."
Before anything else could be said, Chris jumped on his horse and started riding towards the house. He could feel the others behind him but that didn't matter. He had to get to her. Once he got to the main house, he got off his horse. And ran inside, but stopped when he noticed the blood.
"She said to get the hospital as quick as you can." Greyson told him.
Dawson moved over to Chris. "I'll drive you, let me do this for you, sir. You are in no state to drive yourself."
Chris reached out and grabbed Dawson's shoulder to steady himself since he was closest to him. "Navena, Greyson can you get her and take her to Vivian's or just come to the hospital with her. Please."
"Yeah, okay." Greyson nodded his head, unsure of what to even do with a almost one year but he would figure it out.
"Thank you." Chris moved over to Dawson's truck to the passenger side and got in while Dawson got into the driver seat. They were on the way when they seen it. Dakota's car had collided with another one. "Stop, Dawson." And he did, they both jumped out right away. "Check the other car."
"Yes, sir." Dawson moved over to check on the other drive who looked oddly like Izabela. Checking her pulse, it was faint. "Come on, darlin' no dying today." He told her after he got the door open and got her to the bed of his truck. He went to go and check on Dakota next. "You either, darlin'. You're alright, Kota."
"Iza, get her. I'm fine. Help Chris." Dakota told him, even though she was sure that she had some internal injuries, and she had a cut on her forehead from the stirring wheel and the glass. With his help, she got out of the car and moved over to the passenger side. She would be fine.
Chris opened the passenger side door, and pulled out his wife. "It will be okay, sweetheart. I've got you." Dawson helped him get her to his truck gently and into the backseat. Hanging onto her now, as he felt Dawson get into the car and start driving again. "You'll be fine, baby. I promise. Everything is going to be fine." He muttered, holding her close. "Our future and our children, we are going to watch them together and grow old together. "I love you, hold on baby. I still need you and so does our children. We are almost there. Just stay with us." She opened her eyes briefly. "I love you too, Chris." She managed to get out before passing out again.
Pulling right up to the emergency bay. "Sir, you can't park here." A guy told Dawson. "Shut the fuck up, and help me. There was an accident." When the guy seen he was serious, he got the help that they needed. Getting Iza in right away, the other girl and Dakota. "They are going to be okay, sir. Mrs. Sanders is strong and your aunt, is a pistol." He told Chris.
Chris was pacing, he knew that Dawson was right. He had to be right. Sitting down finally, he put his head into his hands, waiting. He felt Kirklyn put her hand onto his shoulder. "Everything will be okay, Chris." She told him softly, Greyson had texted her and she arrived around the same time that they had.
"Oliver, you can't work on family!" Lucius told him. "That girl is your family." He could see the frustration on Oliver's face. Glancing over at Raphael now. "You know I'm right and she needs surgery and we got the baby out of her but now we need to do surgery on her. We need to make this decision quickly."
"I am in the fucking room." Oliver told them. "I'm in the room." Raphael nodded his head. "Levi will be on stand by for the baby. Antonio is working on the other woman right?" Oliver nodded his head some. "Alright, let's move quickly people. We don't want to lose either of them." After the plan was ready, they wheeled the woman into surgery.
Vivian came after Greyson got her and so did Elijah. "Any word yet?" She questioned, looking over at Chris and Kirklyn. Watching her younger sister shake her head. Elijah sitting on the other side of Chris now.
"We're losing her!" Lucius yelled out. "We need more blood." They had gotten the baby out, and now they were trying to Izabela's life. The baby seemed be okay, but in the NICU along with the other baby.
Hours seems to past, and still nothing. Friends seemed to stop by including the Hamilton's. Offering up anything to help. But Chris just felt numb like he couldn't handle any of it without her. Jessica had showed up as well and so did Eloise.
Lucius moved out of the room now, they lost her. "How did it go?" Antonio questioned looking over at him for a moment. "We lost her. Now I have to go and destroy a founding family's members family. We managed to save their son though. You?"
Antonio looked over at him for a moment. "I'm sorry, Lucius. She's fine, no idea if she is going to wake up. I don't think we have the resources to hold a comatose woman here though. So she might have to go into Charleston if she doesn't wake up. She had no id on her or anything. But she was married so maybe someone is missing her."
"I'm going to--I'll tell my brother." Oliver told Lucius. "It might be better hearing it from me." He stated, nodding towards the other surgeons, who just patted his shoulder on the way by. Moving out into the family waiting room.
"Ollie? What happened?" Chris asked right away, standing up and going over to him. "Can I go and see her and my son?" He questioned but then he saw the look in Oliver's eyes.
"Chris...we did everything that we could--" Oliver told him. "No, no. Iza is fine. She's fine." Christopher interrupted him. "Chris, we lost her." The next thing Oliver felt was Chris collapsing into his arms, crying uncontrollable. Their mother came over, and so did the rest of his siblings to hug in closely.
They seemed to stand like that for an hour but in reality it had been ten minutes before everyone pulled away. "I need to see her." Chris told him, Oliver nodded his head and led him to the room that held the body. "You might not be able to recognize her because of the car accident. I'll give you a few minutes." He moved out of the room, and leaned against the wall.
"Dawson, this was my fault." Dakota told him softly. "I was driving to get here quickly. I wasn't able to stop on time and the other car just came out of nowhere." She felt his arms go around her. "Oh, sweetheart this isn't your fault." He told her softly, holding her even closer now. "He's a strong man, he will figure out everything. Everyone will be there for him."
Moving over to the table, Christopher took her hand. "You can't leave me. Come back, I still need you, our children need you. We can just go home, I want to take you home and have everything be okay." He told her softly, as if she could still hear him. Leaning down, he kissed her head gently. "Please don't leave me. Please. Come back, baby." He was crying again. "I'm not strong enough to do this without you. I love you, Izabela Sanders and I'm going to love you all of my life."
It was an hour and Chris didn't move, Oliver moved back in and moved over to him. "Come on, Chris. They need to move her body." He told him softly, wrapping an arm around him to move him out of the room. "Let's go and see your son." Oliver helped him walk down to the NICU. Heading inside, he went over to his son and picked him up. "I've got you, daddy is here, William and I'm not going anywhere." He told him softly, kissing his head.
Christopher held his son close to him. "Daddy's not ever going anywhere." He placed him back down in the basinet and then moved over to wall and sliding down it. Starting to cry once again. Jessica moved into the room, finding Christopher there, she sat down next to him and wrapped an arm around him. "It's okay, baby boy. Let it out." They both knew the pain now, of losing their soulmate.
