The evening air still held traces of warmth from the day, softened now by the ocean breeze drifting through downtown. Somewhere behind them, a live band was playing something loud enough to shake the pavement beneath their feet while the smell of fried food, saltwater, and smoke tangled together in the air.
"You know," he said after a moment, voice low enough that it barely competed with the music around them, "I can’t decide if this place feels more alive tonight… or if everyone’s just trying very hard to remember a version of it that doesn’t exist anymore."
The corner of his mouth lifted faintly as he glanced toward a group of teenagers sprinting past with paper cups and bad coordination. "You used to come to this every year?" he asked, looking back at her now.
They had wanted Aiden to end the night but the redhead declined. It wasn't who she was anymore, she retired. Thankfully. It was a decision that she didn't regret though, she never would. She wanted someone else to step into the spotlight besides the rockstar lifestyle had costed her so much. Not that she would ever admit that out loud to anyone or everyone.
Listening to him, watching some kids run around before turning her attention back towards him. "Ya know, you might be right about the more alive part." She commented, walking next to him now. "It could be that or making it a better version of what it was and something that is their own." She shrugged a little bit.
Looking back towards him now, she nodded some. "Yeah, I did when I was younger all the way up until I left." Then she made it big and now she was back. Retired but running her own studio. "This would be my first one back since my return."
Lennox was in the kitchen in the middle of actually making fettuccini alfredo and mashed potatoes, with vegetables. "Lucky for you, dear twin. I am definitely making food already." They were most of the way through with the dinner for them and their brother, actually. "Was it rough?" They asked, looking over their shoulder at him. "You want to talk about it?"
Cameron knew it was weird to some people that he lived with his twin but honestly there was a comfort to it. Besides they had never really been that far apart from one another. "It certainly does smell good." He stated, moving into the kitchen now. "Need a hand with anything?" Nodding his head a little bit. "Yeah, it was a bit rough." Looking back towards them now. "Not really. Just want to forget that today even happened."
"Christopher, you better watch your mouth cause someone might actually cheat to get you soaked. I know I would if I wanted to see it." Liberty smirked as she walked up to the bullseye button and pushing it. She than gave the person taking money some money so she could actually throw some balls at the dunk tank also to be fair. "How many times do you want to get dunked today? I can get some power throwers over here if needed." She winked as she threw the softball.
The moment that she hit the button with her hand, he fell in. Coming back up, he chuckled lightly. "But see that is cheating, Liberty and no one likes cheaters." He teased lightly, going to sit back down. Wiping his face off with a towel. "Oh what? You can't do it yourself?" He teased lightly with a grin. Watching the first ball miss. "Come on, give it your best shot without cheating."

Location: Founder's Festival (Carnival Games.)
"Byron, if I did not know any better you were trying to take the fun out of the games for the kids." Lucky said as she walked up to him at one of the carnival games. "The only reason I say this is because every, single, time I walk by here you are in the area playing something or scouting the games out. Seriously though how are you and why are you always hiding when I visit the restaurant?"
Byron glanced over at her now, shaking his head a little bit. "Never." He chuckled lightly, shrugging his shoulders a little bit. "I'm just really good at the games. Not my fault." He pointed out. "I'm doing good. Ya know me, making it through. I'm usually busy in the back. So I do apologize especially if you think I was hiding from you because I can promise you that I wasn't."
Nestore held her gaze for a moment after she spoke, his expression unreadable in the way it always had been—calm on the surface, with something quieter moving underneath. The years between them felt both impossibly long and strangely irrelevant, reduced to a few measured breaths and the sound of water just beyond the open doors.
"No," he said softly, the faintest hint of a smile touching the corner of his mouth. "I didn’t think you would either." Yet here they were; with the words settling between them and carrying more than they said outright. He let the silence exist for a beat, studying the subtle changes in her face. "I’m sorry about Barry," he said after a moment, voice lower now, stripped of any distance. "But I'm glad to see you back in town." And beneath it was the unspoken recognition that a part of him had never really expected to see her again—and had never entirely stopped looking anyway.
Rachel looked at him, as if she was trying to read him but of course he was unreadable. He always had been. But so had she at times. Sometimes though she would put her guard down. The years that it had been since the last time she had saw him but at this moment that didn't seem to matter. Because they were here right in front of each other now.
"I would say we know each other good enough to know that either of us would be here right now. But clearly it isn't a mistake that we are here." Rachel stated, believing this without a doubt. The silence between them it wasn't deafening or anything like that. It was comfortable. "Thank you. I appreciate it." She really did. "Well I am glad to be back and not just because of my family now." Honestly she understood that recognition because she thought the same thing. "I am glad that you are here.."
starter for @ofwildxhearts (Henric and Alek) Location: Turtle Bay Founder Event
Henric was glad that he and Alek were back on good terms but now things were complicated at least to him. He had noticed that he had old feelings for the other but never acted on those feelings at all. He loved Axel he was sure about that. Henric despite his reputation, he was an honest guy and he was also very loyal too. He had made his mind to talk and discuss to Axel. He chuckled when he saw the other shirtless. The way he looked at Alek was the same way he looked at Axel as well.
"I sometimes forget how hot you look shirtless and wet," he teased as he stepped closer. "You might give the other Founders a run for their money."
It was nice to be back on good terms with Henric, doing the just friends thing. Not allowing his feelings to show, it was best that way. Last thing he wanted to do was ruin their now found again friendship with old feelings creeping in. He was finished up in the dunk tank, watching another founding family take over. Grabbing a towel, that was when he saw Henric and he couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at his comment.
"Well you did see it a few weeks ago." He pointed out with a grin on his lips. "I always do." He winked a little bit, as he dried himself off.
"Sanders, you and I know quite a few people who would have loved to have known you were here so they could dunk you." Savannah smirked as she bought twenty five dollars worth of softballs to throw at the dunking machine. "Do you want to take it easy on you or not? Should I play nicely that is the question. How are you, by the way, stranger? I have not seen you in forever it seems."
There was a small laugh that escaped Chris's lips now, as he looked over at Savannah. "I mean you aren't wrong." He stated, watching her buy some balls to dunk him. "You know I can take whatever you throw at me." Pointing that out with a smile on his lips now. "Well the kids are growing everyday, Iza is still adjusting but everything seems to be going okay." Was that actually about him? No, but his family was essentially who he was now.
"That I know for sure," he replied with a chuckle, Micah knew just how much his little bro loved the water and was not surprised when Cas spoke about having a boat some day. He was glad that he could help make his brother's dream come true. "Of course," he smiled nodding his head. Honestly he did not mind his brother paying back but at least, now his brother did not have to deal with interest and the bank. "So, what are you going to name the boat?"
The water made sense to him along with surfing. Sometimes people were hard to read about what they wanted and who they wanted. So sticking with the ocean was his way of doing things. Hearing his brother agree to making it a loan, he smiled. "Good because I wouldn't have accepted anything less." He pointed out. Caspian was actually glad that Micah decided to help him out. Thinking about it for a moment. "Maybe I'll name it Carpe Diem or Happy Place." He chuckled lightly at the last one.
starter for @ofwildxhearts (Tristian) Founders Day Event
If Jasper was honest, he was a bit nervous about the result of the cooking contest. He had been learning for Tristian for sure all this while and his cooking had greatly improve but he still could not help it. Plus some of the nerves he had was from his social aninexty but it did for sure that Tristian was by his side. The two of them had gotten close, closer than friends. "Are you excited to see how your lessons have paid off Mister?" he replied with a grin as the looked at the other as they walked side by side. Playfully bumping his shoulders with the others.
Tristan was honestly probably just as nervous as what Jasper was. The two of them definitely had gotten closer more than just friends. He could admit that out loud. "Yeah, I totally am actually. I believed that you did very well." His own shoulder playfully bumping into his as well. "Even if you didn't, I'm still glad that you took those lessons and we were able to spend more time together even afterwards." Which was true, he was glad that they got to spend time together. "Come on, let's go and see how you did." He nudged him towards the judges table now.
"And see... We may be twins but that's where we are actually quite different. You don't mind getting up in the morning and I would much rather spend my day in bed if I could." Reese replied to his brother, a chuckle escaping from his lips a bit. "I'm okay with going out and having some dun. You still want to hang out with me? That's quite nice of you to admit out loud. And I'm glad to hear that work is going well for you as well. It's nice when your job is going well because then it just tends to make your life a bit easier."
"So true. But at least we do know that about one another." Roman pointed out with a small shrug. Honestly he didn't mind getting up early in the morning, he knew not a lot of people did want to get up that early. "I get to sleep in when summer break happens." Even though his body wouldn't let him. "Of course I do. You are my twin brother like you pointed out, dork. Yeah, work is good and it does make life easier. How about you? How are things going? And I mean how is it really going, not just what you tell everyone else."
Rhett chuckled and smiled, it was indeed funny for sure running into the male again. He knew that TB was large but also small enough for him to run into the same people over and over again. He did not mind at all, he liked the male's vibe. "It's Russell right?" he spoke with a charming smile. "If I did not know any better, I might start to think the universe might be up to something and really want us to interact and same here," he winked. "How can I say no but never time, I will not let you because I will be the one getting you something to eat and drink."
Russell nodded his head a little bit, while looking over at him. "That's correct." He glanced around a little bit. "Well this place is owned by the vice president of the Skulls so I'm here a lot." Which was true. Much like most of the members of the MC. Hearing his words, Russ nodded his head a little bit. "I think I can accept that deal. Question is though do we want to stay here or join the festival that seems to be going on in town?"
Charlie had gotten pretty drunk the night before, and he woke up late. "Fuck." He muttered every few seconds as he attempted to get dressed and out the door fast. Meeting Charles for lunch had been his idea! He kept a steady speed the entire way, but of course, followed all traffic laws. "Hey Chuck," the older man clapped his son on the shoulder. His eyes lit up when he thought of a crunchy, warm, gravy-covered chicken-fried steak. "Oh good. Any chance I can also get a side of aspirin?"
Charles glanced over at his day after they pulled away. His father was the only one to call him Chuck. He didn't like it when others did it. If he was being honest. "Aspirin? Got a headache or something?" It always worried him when his father asked for those pills because it made him think he was drinking again. Hopefully he wasn't because he had come so far with being sober.
Jin had picked this place specifically because it was conveniently placed in his neighbourhood, and it looked quiet and cozy. He recognised the man that greeted him in the vague way he recognised most of his neighbours, by silhouette and hair rather than face.
Jin tilted his head slightly, giving a confused but polite smile. “Somewhere else? Is there a HOA meeting or something I wasn’t informed of?” Mentally, he was going through his calendar to check if there was somewhere else he was meant to be instead of here, enjoying a drink. He was not in the habit of ditching plans, so it would have been very out of character for him if he had missed something.
“Uh,” Jin snapped back to the moment and sat down on one of the stools by the bar. “I’ll have a glass of red wine. Any is fine.” He had come to love most red wines. “You don’t have to do that…” He started, but offered a grateful smile. “But I can’t turn down a free drink, so I’ll let you. Is this your bar?”
Shaking his head a little bit. "No, we aren't HOA out here. I just thought that you would be off working or something. Since you get in so late and I know Whispers is open late, just figured you'd be working there." Honestly Cameron was probably wrong and just assuming things. He did that at times. "I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. Its just you are always coming in late sometimes in different outfits and such so I just assumed." Was he rambling? Maybe a little bit.
Hearing his order, Cameron moved to grab the red wine and a glass. Setting it down in front of the other man. "Eh I don't mind giving you a free drink." Nodding his head a little bit. "That it is. Is this your first time in since moving to the Woodland area?" He questioned with a smile on his lips.
who: sebastina + isaac ( @ofwildxhearts ) where: turtle bay founder's festival
Sebastian had spent most of the evening pretending he wasn’t enjoying himself. The Country Western Friday theme had apparently given the entire town permission to become aggressively southern overnight. Boots echoed against the streets downtown, country music drifted from every corner, and somebody nearby was absolutely teaching line dancing to people with no business attempting it. And Sebastian, unfortunately, had been dragged directly into the middle of it.
Dark jeans. Black cowboy hat. Boots that cost more than they should. Sleeves rolled to his forearms. The entire thing looked less costume and more "wealthy ranch owner in a drama series," which Isaac had been far too amused by since they left.
"You know," Sebastian drawled as they wandered past another crowded vendor stall, "I’m starting to think you invited me here purely for your own entertainment." His gaze slid sideways toward Isaac beneath the brim of the hat, faint amusement tugging at his mouth. "And if you even think about trying to make me line dance," he added after a beat, pointing lightly at Isaac with his drink, "I need you to understand I will disappear dramatically into the night."
Isaac did enjoy this time of the year. The fact was he was still apart of the Founding Families. So he had to do most of this stuff. But that didn't mean he couldn't drag his friends along with him. He had spent his time in the dunk tank, getting dunked of course but it was still for a good cause so that was what mattered. So some people shouldn't be line dancing, but the point was to have a good time. And hopefully he could make that happen for Sebastian.
He had his own cowboy hat on, jeans and white tee shirt. He couldn't help but actually chuckle at Sebastian's outfit but it did seem like the other man was trying so Isaac could give him that. That alone was a plus but still it brought amusement to Isaac. Maybe more than what it should.
There was a small laugh that now escaped Isaac's lips. "I might have, I might have." He shrugged a little bit. "Or maybe, just maybe I wanted to get you out of the house." Taking a small sip of his own drink now, he shook his head a little bit. "Well we can't have you dramatically disappearing into the night. So got it no line dancing for now. Never know later though."

Location: Founder's Festival. (On The Way from Portside Coffee.)
Liberty and her two kids were on their way to the festival, making a stop at Portside Coffee on the way. The sports agent was in the need of one of the frozen coffee drinks and the kids were wanting to try the new Summer smoothies. The three of them walked in smiling and she called over to Mariyana, "Hey, Mari, what do you suggest for three heading to the festival to drink? Frozen coffee something for me and whatever these two want."
Mari had a busy day, she was glad that Raya was with her aunt and uncle enjoying the festival. She would take her tomorrow or later this way they could enjoy it together. Looking up when she heard the bell and seen Liberty, she gave the woman a smile. "Well I do have a Founders drink. My own creation." She stated, starting to make two of the smoothies and frozen coffee. "How are you doing?"
