so many (or well, at least a considerable amount) of my moots/friends are into monogatari i cant help but be slightly interested in it but it still feels like a daunting task to get into

ive considered reading the books, watching the anime, but i can never quite decide...

maybe ill end up never watching it!

Eneko spent the following hours drifting in and out of consciousness, only catching bits and pieces of the waking world. One moment he was lying on the overpass, Devil hovering over him. Another he could only hear the far off sound of orders barking. He couldn’t follow them; he could only teeter on the edge of unconsciousness and fight to breathe against every stab in his side.

At some point in the darkness, he was faintly aware of being lifted, carried away. Everything was a blur. When he could finally open his eyes, he was aware of movement, the muffled sound of a siren. He could only make out blurred shapes as they hovered over him, shining stabbing lights in his eyes and urging him to stay calm and hold on.

It was the last thing he remembered before fully slipping into the deep dark of unconsciousness.

since i was enabled by @stalwartxknight,

gonna make a weaponsmith character. her name is akashi furukane and she’s a raen au ra who comes from an old, prestigious family of swordsmiths, eager to create the best katana in the history of swordsmithing.

she was barred from apprenticing for such work by her traditionalist father and older brother. in response, akashi struck out on her own to establish a successful forging studio where she employs and trains those who struggle in the margins of society. akashi is incredibly passionate in her work and strives for excellence in all of her crafting. many samurai and even the sekiseigumi go to her for her trademark katanas.

despite her passion for swordsmithing, akashi dislikes the sight of blood.

ok this is just sheerly self-indulgence BUT

imagine möngke wearing the ring of the lucii to save the glaives and/or the prince and the first thing he says (or. well, says in his head) is literally “oh so these are the fucking assholes who let their city be destroyed”

and that at first confuses and angers the old kings of lucis and just as they’re abt to deem möngke unworthy, this mute who isn’t of their blood and doesn’t even respect royalty properly, he just fuckin. rails against them in his head while they hear him thru telepathy.

“you, the old kings of lucis, let your city and people fall at the hands of the enemy! do you lot not have power? use it! protect your people like you were supposed to! because the rest of us are trying and failing miserably at that!”

and when they make him choose between who to save he just fuckin snorts and literally gives them the middle finger.

“how dare you use other lives as bargaining chips. you cowards. no- you’ll use mine because i said so and that’s final. take everything from me but don’t you dare go after these people.”

because man he is so incredibly bitter and angry at the fall of insomnia and why not take it out on a bunch of ghosts who were just passive observers. and if one more uncontrollable force takes another person from him, he’s gonna lose his shit and literally fight the gods. ramuh can catch these hands

but you know, he ends up accepting the contract and dying according to the terms after he uses his power to save those he can save.
