@givethispromptatry "Thanks, Enrique." Violet murmered to the manager in the otherwise empty store. "Yeah, yeah, just make sure to be back
@givethispromptatry @sebsterianart @holygoddessofvictory alternate ending of the linked post with a bit of a different perspective. Side note: the part in Italian. It's supposed to mean "Those who are made can be unmade."
Jasper knew he didn't have the best luck. Always in the wrong place at the wrong time, whether the wrong of it was caused by him or not.
So, here he was. Once again. Suspended in the air by his favorite hero and his favorite enemy, the ever peppy 'Luna Lift'.
She'd met his bright greeting with sarcasm and a place in the sky.
He sighed as she pinned down the muggers with ease.
"Please wait to make a report with the police." She pulled out her phone
"Hey! You said you'd let me down after you took care of them!" He reminded her.
She looked up from her phone and set it to mute, "They aren't taken care of unti-"
Jasper's attention was taken away from her reasoning by a glint of metal. "Look out!"
"You can't dist-"
The 'victim' stood smug behind her.
The knife they pulled stuck out of her side.
"Bout time you really felt how much of a pain you've been."
Jasper felt himself drop a foot as Luna dropped to her knees.
The muggers got up to run. The attacker stayed.
They walked around and lifted her face to meet their eyes. "Our boss sends their regards. Quelli che sono fatti possono essere disfatti."
Jasper didn't understand what that meant. What he did understand was the fact he was now shakily decending.
Looking between the hero and the - he really wanted to call them an idiot but considering their current status it wouldn't be accurate- he considered his options.
He was still relatively high up.
There was a chance he could reach the ground safely. The attacker would get away and she might die
There was a chance she lost control. Then both of them were dead and the attacker got away.
.... There was a chance, right now, for him to do the thing he promised himself he never would. They'd survive, hopefully, and maybe the attacker wouldn't get away.
Okay. Option three it is.
He focused on Luna, on the power keeping him up, and probably helping keep her wound closed.
He snapped his fingers.
He started to fall, only to stop. The feeling of a power that wasn't his own tentatively holding him in place.
This was new.
The attacker's grin widened at her surprised expression. Then, they slammed to the ground.
Jasper hissed through his teeth and said, Yikes. Okay. That was definitely more force than I meant to use."
"You-" Luna glared at him as she held her side.
He moved himself to the ground in a series of short jolts. "I will fully apologize later. Like, after this person gets arrested and you get an ambulance later."
"Give me my power back."
He looked sheepish, "That's more complicated, I'll explain when I apologize. But first-" He picked up her phone from where she dropped it and turned the microphone on- "Yes, hello, this is Jasper Perro. My friend was just stabbed in the alley left of the Dime Mine store on East Beaumont. I- Yes, please send medical help- I managed to subdue the attacker but they had a couple helpers that got away. I'm sorry I didn't get a good look at them, but one was worried about breaking parole? Of course I'll stay on the line. Thank you so so much."
"Friend?" She asked.
Shaking his head he said, "Save your energy... I know it's not something you'd call me. Don't worry about it."
Sirens in the distance assured him that she wouldn't have time to think too hard about it.
