I’m still not sure whether this is Shiro or Shireplica. I don’t know. I haven’t decided. The montage at the end with him remembering the rest of the team was emotional . . . but again, that’s not really confirmation. Lore varies from series to series, but in some science fiction stories it is possible to implant memories on a clone / replica after creating them. If that’s the case, then Shireplica could have all of Shiro’s memories and still not be Shiro. Considering we keep seeing flashes of memory from him of being in a test tube, I feel that this is a real possibility.
There’s also the fact that . . . he didn’t express surprise that the team had formed Voltron at all. I know that he had wanted Keith to succeed him, but he also knows that Keith didn’t want to. And even if Keith did, what about Red, then? What about the other Lions? He didn’t have even a moment of wonder at the fact that they had formed Voltron without him there. Why? I know there wasn’t necessarily “time”, but you’d think that he’d react in some way, but he didn’t. He just wanted to reach Voltron. Which, again, is understandable, but still . . .
Well, whether he’s Shiro or Shireplica, I’m glad that the Black Lion finally did its job and saved him, lmao. I wonder, though, if that was partly because of Keith. God knows the Black Lion never lifted a claw to save Shiro before (unlike Red), but maybe Black learned something from having Keith as its pilot? Maybe that’s just the effect Keith has on Lions. Looking at Red, it’s possible.
Anyway. TWO EPISODES TO GO. BLURB FOR SIX SAYS KEITH IS DOUBTING HIS LEADERSHIP ABILITY AND LANCE IS THINKING ABOUT HIS FUTURE. I AM STRESSED.
