Red vs Blue (Shocking. I know.)
Voltron
Final Fantasy
the first character you loved:
Caboose. At the start of the series it was hard to get a grasp on all the characters personalities since they were just starting to develop. Caboose was the first one to truly find his and it was impossible not to love the big dumb cinnamon roll.
Shiro: He’s a good looking man with a metal arm and the first main character you’re introduced to. Of course it was love at first sight.
Zell: It was love at first CGI introduction. His energetic, upbeat personality, his obsession with hotdogs, his never back down attitude toward things; what’s not to love?
the character you never expected to love so much:
Church: At the beginning of the series this guy was just a big ball of anger. He hated everything. A grade A asshole. So I didn’t really think much of him. But when you find out his past, you can’t but sympathize with him and understand him better. As the series went on, his personality began to change after awhile, he began to show a level of compassion and care for his friends, even going so far as to sacrifice himself a few times to save them. I dunno about you guys, but it’s hard not to love and respect a character like that.
Lance: When Lance was first introduced, my immediate thought was that this character was going to be nothing more than a joke character that would flirt around and be the comic relief. As much as I love funny characters, I prefer them to have more backstory and development to them and that is exactly what Dreamworks delivered to me with Lance. There is so much more to the boy than what he first appears as and I love it and look forward to watching him reach his all-time potential.
Noctis: Back when FFXV was still Verses XIII and we first got our look at Noctis (who was known as Storm at the time, lul), I thought I was looking at a Sasuke wannabe. That’s exactly what I thought his character would be. He seemed looked and acted the part in the verses teasers. But when the official game came out, he ended up surprising me by being a very fun, interesting and pretty relatable main character.
the character you relate to the most:
Grif: A smart-ass that loves to eat, sleep and procrastinate his way out of work and problems until he can’t and then panics. I can relate.
Pidge: A tomboy with a love for technology. Pretty relatable there.
Prompto: Low self-esteem, loves adventure, just wants to have fun with his friends. Yeah, guilty.
the character you’d slap:
The Director: torturing AI’s to the brink of insanity to make them fragment so you can have tons of AI’s for your little experiments? Not cool.
Keith: Mr. I’m-too-emo-and-headstrong-to-be-a-decent-leader. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate him. But god, he needs sense smacked into him sometimes.
Steiner (FFIX): a character that spent the majority of the game irritating me with his chivalrous ways. He had good intentions but still, ugh.
three favorite characters in order of preference:
Agent Washington, Church (Epsilon), Caboose
Lance, Shiro, Pidge
Prompto, Zack, Squall
a character you did not like at first but do now:
Tex: At first I wrote her off as a greedy bitch who only cared for herself. When I re-watched the series and really paid attention to the plot, I realized there was more to her character than I thought.
Lotor: When introduced, he was a bad guy. Seemed full of himself, like his shit didn’t stink. Figured he was gonna be an issue. But with the latest season, him changing his ways and all, I’ve found myself hoping that he isn’t just playing everyone like fiddles and is a genuine good guy.
Quistis (FFVIII): I dunno. I didn’t really hate her, but I definitely didn’t like her back in the day. Maybe it was her teacher-like ways, lord knows my hatred of teachers was strong back then. When I replayed the game, I picked up on her witty side this time around and definitely found her more likeable.
