Quick bullet point backstory:
Lionel was born the middle child, and due to that, he always felt like he had to prove himself to his family. Sure, he loved his siblings, but they always got more attention than he ever did.
His whole family was anti-mutants, so by default, he was too. He actually never even put any effort in trying to see what it might be like to be a mutant in this world, until a few years ago.
Anyway, in order to get his parents attention, he worked really hard in class, to always get the best grades and get praised. Well, it worked for a short time, but it wasn’t that satisfying after all. But he did develop a great interest in science and the medical field.
After graduating, he went for that, studied medicine, genes, and other fields related. (I am not a science person, I apologize for that) And started doing research as an assistant during his studies.
Sooooo at one point, he met a girl, and that whole cliché love story. He really did love her, they were already married at 22. But a few months later, he discovered she had mutant abilities. Part of him was frightened, the other was hurt at the fact she kept it from him, but mostly that he did not see it before. And both of those combined, well, that lead him to the unthinkable. Out of rage and deception, he pushed her down the stairs of their apartment building.
That rage quickly fell down, and the first person he contacted was the scientist he was currently helping, one he knew was anti-mutant as well. That person had contacts, and they managed to create a cover-up story for her death, but also got him out of there, and shipped him to the island to complete his studies and help around the lab.
So that is how he ended up on the island, studying the mutant gene and how it worked. Obviously, he did not have a good relationship with the mutants.
But that changed, slowly, after the mutants took over. Well, of course he wasn’t in a good position, but it also helped him open his eyes in a way. With them in control, he did learn more about their cause, their situation, and who they actually were: not the monsters he was told as a kid.
He is still working on gaining their full trust, of course, but Lionel was able to take on a job as a lab assistant for the hospital. With his formation, he could do particularly good in analysing samples that came through.

He can be kind of an asshole at times, and since he doesn’t really have anyone on the mainland he’d want to talk to, he’d probably write to his employer, the one that got him on the island, and tell them he’s quitting.
What’s a day in the life of your muse like?
Wake up usually just in time to get to work, spend most of his time there, although he does try to mingle with the mutants and prove that he is on their side now, and always ends up in bars with a few shots of tequila.
If your muse had a moment to sit down and talk with someone that was anti mutant what would they say?
Try to explain he’s been in the same situation they are, being anti-mutants in the past, but that he’s seen the other side, and he understands the bad guys aren’t the mutants. Honestly, he’d just try to change their mind.
What mutant abilities outside of their own intrigue them the most? Are there any they’d fear if they came across them?
He is simultaneously intrigued and scared by all of them. The fact he does not possess any power does play a lot on that, but he cannot help but wonder what it would be like to have those powers. But having seen them up close for years now, he also knows the extent of those powers and how scary and dangerous they can get.

Coworkers: he works for the hospital, and it could be interesting to see the different dynamics he has with other people working there considering he used to be anti-mutants? I dunno, just a thought.
Family: so he still believes they are anti-mutants, but I think it could be interesting to have one or two members of the family show up on the island? Preferably his siblings, but his parents could work as well. It would just be interesting to see where they stand now, and how they would react to him switching sides.
Relationship: ok, the idea for this character(more or less) came after I watched Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock. So I’m just... picturing him going for someone, but he’s still distant, and it feels like he’s not reciprocating anything? Because all he can think about is what happened with his wife. And then the truth can come out and I dunno just a thought.

So this boy was born as an only child in the beautiful province of Québec(I am 100% biased). Rather normal family except they were poor and his dad couldn’t keep a job.
So he stayed in Gatineau for 6 years, which is the place in lived in the longest. Then they moved to Toronto, and just moved around a lot after that. They finally crossed the border to the States when he was around 12.
So he was picked on a lot during school because they were poor and he was always wearing worn out clothes. But instead of just taking the beating, he’d fight back. He fought back literally all his life that’s what he does best.
After graduating, he didn’t go to college, just took on a few jobs. And kept on kicking asses. He became a bouncer when he turned 21, and he kinda abused the power? He did beat up a few guys while on the job(for multiple legitimate reasons, but there were non violent ways to deal with them).
That got him some attention, and someone approached him for a “job”. Which he accepted. At that time, it was just beating up people for money, but then it started escalating until it was mUCH WORSE.
Basically, before getting caught, Frank was a mercenary and people just hired him for any job they want, from beatings to murders, going by stealing and any other crime.
He also didn’t know yet about his mutant ability, it only happened a little later. He was actually on a job, and he felt the bullet. Honestly, he thought that was the end. But then few hours later, he was still lying on the ground, very much alive. He was confused, but after a few experiments, he concluded he had some sort of immortality power.
Which caught the attention of the authorities. It took them some time, but after an elaborate plan, they did catch him and sent him to the island. But that was like, a year before the mutants took over, so he doesn’t have much experience with what they used to do there.
He’s also such an ass, he really doesn’t care about helping others unless he can benefit from it? So he didn’t take a job, although he does help when he wants, and where he can help. He’s a surprisingly good cook so it often revolves around food, or guarding people.

All he got was a picture of his parents. After graduating high school, he lost track of them, and hasn’t seen them since he was 18. But he had so many questions for them, mostly after discovering about his ability, and now part of him knows he’ll never see them again, and learn the truth.
If your muse was able to write a letter to one person back on the mainland, who would it be and why?
Definitely his mom or his dad. Even if it’s been 20 years since he’s seen them, they’re the only people that really matter to him, and he’d want them to know what happened to him, and how he’s doing.
Them or a client, and just tell them “Sorry, I’ll be late.” Because he’s an asshole and he is definitely late by now.
What’s a day in the life of your muse like?
Honestly? Just wake up whenever, wander around, be arrogant with most, although sometimes he helps, and try to figure out a way off this island because he doesn’t feel like he can stay there much longer. Then end the day in a bar with a few beers.

I don’t think he would talk. He’d just threaten them to stop harrassing mutants, or he’ll find them and make them pay.

Power negation both fascinates and scares him. For now, he is not ready to die, so having someone negate his power is very threatening to him since he’s been so careless due to his immortality. But at the same time, he knows he will need someone with that power if he feels it’s time for him to go one day.

Child: would be 18-19 now, and definitely an accident. Frank probably doesn’t even know he has a child, and left before the girl told him she was pregnant. Now I can see it two ways; either the child started digging up information about their father and tried to find him, or they ended up with him on the island and they are unaware of their relationship, but are learning slowly about it.
Ex: I’m thinking someone he dated on the island for some time, in an attempt to better himself and become a new man, but he realized he couldn’t do it? Or maybe he realized he could do it and the change scared him.
Parent: either mom or dad or both. Honestly I was writing his bullet point info and I was thinking: how cool would it be if his parents showed up one day? And then he can learn why he has the mutant gene and everything?

It didn’t say much, just happy birthday and hope it was a good one. She didn’t even say ‘love mom’ or anything, it was signed with her name like a business transaction, but he keeps it close anyway. He doesn’t even really know why, just thought that maybe he should keep it even now in his 50s.

His aunt/adoptive mum. He does miss her something terrible and she has no idea what happened to him. Not that he is positive she is still alive, she’d be nearing her mid 80′s at this point. He’d want to thank her for always being there for him, for giving him a home when no-one else wanted to.
What’s a day in the life of your muse like?
Very lowkey, very quiet. If he has any borders then he starts by making sure they have something to eat before they go about their day. If not then he’ll generally work on something in the house that needs fixing, because it always seems in need of one repair or another. His day is punctuated by drinking, and he usually only eats dinner if that and nothing else. He seldom ventures out of the house and attached small yard/ploy of land and has few friends. The only times he goes anywhere are if he’s out of something.

He wouldn’t. Plain as that. He will never be in a room with an anti-mutant person again, especially not alone. It would be too much for him, he knows this might be weak of him but he doesn’t care anymore. He seldom trusts the fellow mutant, though he’s always nice to them, he’d never consent to being around someone openly apposed to his kind.

All of them. He finds them all quite interesting and formidable in their own way.

All three were books. The first was a copy of ‘The Silver Chair’ from the Chronicles of Narnia, a personal favourite book and an original first edition copy. His father found it at a book fair when he was seven and it has great sentimental value. The second was ‘Utopia’ by Thomas More, a great classic and one of his most read books. The third and final one is a second-grade history book withe photos tucked between its pages. Pictures of him, his sister, parents, old friends, things he loves.

He’d write his former Archaeological dig partner, and odd choice it may seem. But this partner is the one who helped him get to the island and was aiding in tracking down his mutant sister and he is dying to know how both are doing.

He’s always up super early, tea brewed, clothes on before most people hit the snooze button the first time. He’ll head outside for a piece, then back home to teach whichever students are due for the day. Afterwards he’ll head to to more populated areas, or go do some training because he feels he can never have too much of that.

He would ask them why. Why do they hate mutants, why do they wish harm on someone they don’t know, why they think it is alright to persecute someone for no reason.
What mutant abilities outside of their own intrigue them the most? Are there any they’d fear if they came across them?
He fears mind control powers the most. The idea of someone being able to make him do something he doesn’t want to do and not having the capacity to stop himself would terrify him. But he also doesn’t judge people based on their powers and gets to know them first. The ability he finds the most intriguing is Polymathy, the ability to learn and retain vast amounts of information is one he is even slightly envious of.

The keys to his favourite motorbike. It was slightly petty, but he didn’t want anyone using it so he took the keys. A small picture frame with the only photo of his daughter he has, because he misses her and always wishes he could have been a better dad. An old boxing medal, the first he ever one, back when he was a teen and still in school, and the only legal boxing match he ever won. To remind him of where he came and where he’s been since.

His daughter. He’d want to apologize, and see how she was doing. He desperately hopes she did not inherit the X-Gene because he wants a better life for her than he got.
What’s a day in the life of your muse like?
Well, he works as a bartender, late shift so he’s generally in bed til noon-ish. Then he’ll get up, eat whatever is around and head out to mosey around the town before heading to work. He does minimal shopping but will stop to just chat with people he knows while walking around. At work he sets everything up and makes sure everything in the bar is operational, more because he likes everything to be ready then because its his job. His evening is spent pouring out drinks, listening to peoples day and cheering people up in any way he can.
If your muse had a moment to sit down and talk with someone that was anti mutant what would they say?
Probably nothing polite, ngl. A fine selection of the finest of London insults, mixed with callous insults about their mother and an icy stare.
What mutant abilities outside of their own intrigue them the most? Are there any they’d fear if they came across them?
He finds shape-shifting to be quite fascinating. He fears no power as he is well aware it is less the power and more the person who wields it who should be judged.
WANTED PLOTS / CONNECTIONS
Dependent: any gender, age range up to around 30. This person is someone who looks to TD for guidance and help, for some reason choosing the crabby Brit to be a mentor of sorts. In turn they have his eternal affection, and protection.
Frenemy: any gender, age range 35-50 ish. For the sake of appearances and morale these two look to most to be on friendly or at least amicable terms. The truth however, is that neither one can stand each other for one reason or another. Or maybe it’s just no reason at all.
Estranged Daughter: female, age range 18-22. He tried for a while to be in his girls life, but she was not supposed to happen. At least not with a woman he couldn’t stand as her mother. He eventually felt it was best to stay away, keep that toxicity away from his daughter. But now, especially recently, he regrets not being there for her, for missing all those things a dad should be there for and is making attempts to reconcile.
