I’m obsessed with the idea of selective mute Sam that only talks to Dean and maybe Bobby. Sam and Dean have their own language of hand gestures and facial expressions that Dean uses to communicate for Sam when they around people Sam won’t talk to.
If HBO ever did a reboot I would NEED THIS!

Summary: Feelings start to grow when something happens they all come out
Warnings: Light swearing
Over the next week you went over to the Winchesters house helping Sam with what ever he needed he was a kind man who went through a lot his father passed away in a car crash and his mother died to shock from loosing her long lover. Sam was 16 when that happened, and he and his brother have lived here ever since in their house it felt like home they tried other places, but it didn’t feel right. You were cooking their dinner a simple lasagne as you put it in the oven you turned around jumping when you saw Sam he was so silent when he moved.
“You scared me again Winchester” You laughed he smiled he had a beautiful smile you felt your cheeks heat up and quickly turned away busying yourself with the dishes no you couldn’t have thoughts like that never he was your patient. You sighed as he walked to stand next to you with a frown on his face looking down at you damn his tallness. He began to dry the dishes putting them away you were both in sync you both didn’t hear Dean come home as you laughed when you flicked bubbles onto his face as he smiled dipping his hands in the water rubbing the on your face you squealed making Dean concerned running into the kitchen seeing you to soaking each other he sighed.
“Y/n?” Dean asked you froze your hands-on Sam’s face wetting him you snatched your hands away clearing your throat trying not to smile.
“I’m sorry we were um playing around?” You said he rolled his eyes walking out as you stifled a giggle. You looked at Sam who was smiling wanting to laugh you knew he was he looked down to you your face wet with bubbles he laughed wiping them off with a tea towel making you blush. The oven dinged, and you snapped out of your trance grabbing it placing it on the counter. You cut it into pieces as Dean was getting out of the shower.
“Smells amazing” Sam signed you smiled saying thankyou as Dean walked in. You all sat down eating Dean said to stay for dinner you appreciated it. Sam was an eating machine he had two slices making you wonder how he fit that all in such a nice body. You froze realise what you thought and cleared your head continuing eating.
Going home that night you laid and bed and realised you liked the younger Winchester, but it wasn’t right he was your client you needed to look after him. You sighed turning to your side closing your eyes letting sleep consume you. You snapped your eyes opened when you heard the phone ring you looked at the time it was 2 in the morning you groaned going to the phone seeing Deans name making you frown.
“Hello Dean” You said.
“Y/n its Sam he’s in hospital” He said your world froze.
“He what? What happened?” You asked rushed.
“Ill tell you later please just come down” He said you did it was a three-hour drive. It was morning by the time you got there you rushed in the hospital asking the desk lady where he was. You rushed to his room seeing Dean on the chair and Sam in the bed.
“Dean?” You asked he stood up giving you a quick hug before you looked at Sam he had a tube down his throat.
“What happened?” You asked your voice shaking.
“Some idiots attacked him he went out for his normal night run and some shit heads attacked him because he ran into them he couldn’t say anything and the stabbed him and choked him he wasn’t coming back the normal time and I fond him on the street” Dean said you felt your eyes water as you walked over to his bed gripping his hand with your smaller one.
“Will he be ok?” You asked.
“The doc said he will just needs to stay in hospital for a week” Dean sighed sitting down again leaning his head against his hand. You looked back to Sam squeezing his hand.
You stayed with Dean for two days and Sam still didn’t wake up you grew worried did anything else happen? On the third day Dean went home to shower you stayed pacing around the room he needed to wake up. You stopped when you heard shuffling you snapped your head to Sam seeing him moving you rushed to his bed gripping his hand as his eyes opened.
“Sam?” You said happily with tears in your eyes he smiled at you.
“Hey” He signed you smiled tears running down your face. He frowned reaching up to wipe them away. You grabbed his hand smiling.
“I’m so happy your ok” You whispered giving him a hug he hugged you back rubbing your back. You pulled back smiling going to message Dean when he grabbed your hand.
“Y/n I’ve realised something. I like you a lot” He said you froze your cheeks heating up with a small smile on your face.
“I like you too Sam” You said, and his smile brightened you chuckled wiping your tears giving him a kiss on the lips. He melted into the kiss gripping the back of your head when suddenly you heard someone clear their throat. You pulled away embarrassed seeing Dean.
“I’m glad you’ve waken up Sammy” He said nodding to his brother.
“And I’m glad you told her” He said you laughed as Sam smiled his hand gripping yours maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing to love him.

Summary: Sam is mute, and you get a call to help him
Warnings: Mentions of suicide, alcohol abuse, drugs some swearing
You lived in Kansas ever since you were a little baby your mother and her mother before you lived here. It was a small town everyone knew everyone your family were neighbours to the Winchesters. When you were young you and Sam would always play together but when you both turned 18 he left completely you didn’t see him ever.
Now you worked for a company in helping people you would work with the mute, Deaf, crippled anything like that you were hired to stay at their house and look after them. Your phone started to ring, and you quickly picked it up sitting in a chair.
“hello, Y/n Y/l/n speaking” You said.
“Hello Y/n its lin you have a job congratulation” Your boss said you bubbled with excitement.
“Oh, thank you so much!” You said happily.
“Not a problem the client is male 28 his name is Sam Winchester he lives in Kansas with his brother who is a mechanic he is mute” Your boss said you nodded realising she couldn’t see you.
“Ok when do I go?” You asked.
“Tomorrow so get packing” You smiled.
“Ok thank you again” You said and hung up smiling like an idiot.
The next day you travelled to Kansas and drove to the address it was a two-story house with a run-down garden. You pulled into the drive way seeing 1967 Chevy you smiled. You walked to the door knocking a man with blond hair opened the door.
“Hello there, I’m Y/n Y/l/n” You said smiling he nodded.
“I’m Dean that’s Sam over there um ill give you a tour and talk you through what he needs but I do have to go to work soon” He said you nodded.
“That’s ok” You said. He showed you his house telling you what Sam needed and what he wasn’t aloud to do.
“Is he deaf also?” You asked Dean shook his head.
“He can hear perfectly fine just can’t speak” Dean said leaning against the door as you watched Sam work on something on his desk. He was a tall man with shaggy brown hair.
“Oi sasquatch” Dean said Sam sighed turning around glaring at his brother he was very handsome.
“Hello” He signed you smiled saying hello back.
“I have to go ill be back at 7 tonight though, feel free to help yourself to food and whatever” Dean said grabbing his things rushing out the door you said bye, but he was already gone. You frowned but shrugged your shoulders you realised how messy the house was you grimaced.
“Right first I’m going to clean” You said rolling up your sleeves Sam raising an eyebrow at you. You spent two hours just cleaning the house you wiped the sweat off of your brow you didn’t go into the boys rooms not wanting to intrude you went into the kitchen something smelt off. You gagged as you began to clean furiously as Sam got up leaning against the door frame watching you run around it made him laugh. You jumped when you heard a knock you snapped your head around seeing Sam standing there.
“Jeez you scared me” You said he smirked.
“Would you like something to eat?” You asked he nodded frowning when you turned around looking into the fridge.
“Ok I have to shop” You sighed. You brought Sam with you turns out the man liked the greens and salads. Sam accidently ran into someone and the man turned around starting to yell.
“Sir he’s mute he’s saying sorry” You said as Sam signed sorry.
“Ya freak watch were your going” The man growled you scoffed as you went to say something, but Sam held you back shaking his head.
It happens a lot don’t worry about it
You sighed nodding your head you often got defensive. Driving back home Sam watched out the window like he was in another world you had a small smile on your face as you got home and began to cook. You made them an apple pie sticking it in the fridge with the rest of the grocery’s you handed Sam a chicken sandwich which he thanked you for. Dean got back early at 5 you cooked dinner a stir fry which they both chomped down like they were starving you shook your head laughing as you brought out the pie. Deans eyes bulged out of his face.
“You amazing human” He said grabbing a slab you chuckled dishing out some for Sam seeming as he was patient enough to wait.
After that you went home leaving them to their work with a smile on your face you would enjoy this.
