Multitasking

The facility at Themisto was unseasonably quiet on that Jovian evening. Absent was the usual hustle and bustle of both Corpus crewmen and their proxies, despite the time frame-- the first of the Zanuka project’s prototypes were just finishing up, ready to be activated... and according to most calculations, The Lotus and her army would find him within days. According to his own calculations, however, a few had already been here... Forward scouts, poking around uninvited... And they would be back before the rest of the swarm caught up. It wasn’t common for any true Corpus, let alone one of the Elite, to be seen relaxing when something exciting like this was happening, let alone at all. As they say, ‘Time is Credit’, and to waste precious work time is to watch your profits fall. Despite this, Alad V was at his observatory, on the balcony above the swirling, storming orange clouds, standing with his arms behind his back to watch the tempest churn and unfurl.
But he wasn’t just watching the clouds pass, he thought to himself with a smile. He was waiting for the storm to engulf him.
Chalcedony: How do they consider their allies in regards to themself? Do they reach out to them, or do they typically keep to themself?
The term ‘ally’ is... not widely used in Alad’s vocabulary. He does, however, have a few ‘Business Partners’ that come and go with the tides... notably, the Tenno fall into this category... at least... when they’re not trying to kill him. But, you know... Swings and roundabouts.Alad also holds himself in... very high regard. The highest, even. Higher than anyone else, including people he’s supposedly close to. He'll go out of his way to taunt and toy with the parties he’s allied to, granted he knows they need him. He likes to push things a bit too far in this regard... because he likes to have his fun.Despite all this, if him and his partners share a common goal, he will strongly believe in it and do whatever he can to achieve it-- including sacrificing things that are important to him. He’s a shithead, sure, but he’s a shithead that gets things done.

The glare of the midday sun danced off the ocean that touched on the shores of Eidolon, almost serene apart from the grineer camps along the shore always clattering and grunting away as they worked to set their position on the plains.
High up above, something punched through the atmosphere, leaving a blazing trail behind it as is crashed down to the water, skipping across the surface before it smashed into the shore. The object loosing speed as it rolled and bounced, leaving deep ruts in the ground with every contact. Finally it came to rest at the bottom of some stones that jutted from the ground like huge gnarled fingers.
As the dust and debris settled, a small shape came into view, a reinforced grey pod, scratched at dented from the impact, the windows cracked, but still somehow holding.
The grineer camps were abuzz, and there were only few in Cetus who had missed the sight.

Silent he waited, watching as the golden light danced across the gently rippling surface of the lake. A soft breeze rolled out from the ocean, tugging ever so delicately at the end of his battered syandana, leaves around him rustling quietly, adding their whispering melody to that of the gentle burble of the water.
It was peaceful, the Grineer had scattered in preparation for the night ahead, but the daylight still lingered long enough for the ghosts to remain asleep.
And so in this quiet, with the noise of Cetus locked away behind their gates and no distant sound of gunfire or mortar shell, he waited. Poised and ready to strike, spear in hand, arm raised and his optics focusing and refocusing in his helm.
A ripple on the water. A flash of gold that had no reason to be there. The tension suddenly released from his arm as he let his spear fly, piercing the water with a ‘plip’ followed by the ‘zing’ as it pulled his catch back to his hand.
Slowly he looked at his wiggling catch, his helm tilting ever so slightly towards it.
He’d caught better…
The Charc eel would barely be enough for one in Cetus. But there were more out there to catch, and he had the time.
Tossing it to join the others in the basket he’d brought with him before turning back to the water and raising his spear once more.

It wasn’t very often that Patel actually ever saw other Tenno, well, mostly because her own circumstances were quite more peculiar than that of the average Zariman child.
For starters the way transference worked for her was... Different. Oh it was quite normal when she uses any of her Warframe apparatuses, the only problem however is the one Warframe she used, the one she supposed was her ‘main’, was sentient.
Sentient not as in of Tau origin, but sentient as in she could speak, act and think for herself.
She called herself Voxx and she served for her operator- or more or less acted as Patel’s guardian. There were times where Patel could rear control over Voxx fully but for them it was a dance, shared thoughts, shared words, shared movement. They worked in synchronization, never one more in control than the other. However, often times than not Patel would much rather be in the fight herself than have a Warframe as her proxy. Which lead to a lot of... Interesting, encounters.
The young Patel and her guardian Voxx were on a mission in Sedna, a simple seek and kill, exterminate the population. Easy business, however partway through her mission she overheard the words of the Lotus speak to her, a transmission buzz as familiar as any comfort sound she knows
Tenno reinforcements are coming.
Tenno reinforcements huh? Patel paused as Voxx decided to go ahead and continue slaughtering the dozen of Grineer soldiers that overran the premises.
By the time this ‘Tenno reinforcement’ arrived, Voxx was well into the next floor of the Grineer warship, however Patel being as nice as she was stayed behind to greet her temporary teammate.
❝ It’s nice to see a fellow Tenno again in the star system. ❞
