17: how did they spend their summers/free time as a child?

When not helping his parents around the house n farm he was probably catching frogs, playing in mud, and climbing trees with Bea. I imagine Bea tells a lot of good stories about grand adventures and make-believe, Mutt could just sit and listen to them for hours. He'd read his own books, too, he just liked the way she tells em. He didn't have many other friends.

As a teen he got a bit scrappier and was running around town more often, helping with the farm less, made more friends. Boy friends he didn't know how to handle bc he secretly like-liked them and didn't understand so was always scrapping and tussling with them instead. (biting you) (intricate rituals, etc)

18: their opinion on lying, stealing, and killing? "I reckon if you're backed into a corner, you'll do just about anything to survive."

I don't think he minds lying or stealing all that much, mostly because the closest person in his life currently would tell him anything and if not there must be a good reason for it and he can't imagine himself getting hurt in that way. He probably could, feel hurt from it, but he hasn't experienced that yet. Keeps his expectations low, maybe, or simply thinks a lie isn't necessarily malicious. Its not like he's exactly truthful about himself to people around town. They think him n Bea are in love, not, married for convenience. And stealing is.. whatever as a general concept, he doesn't have anything super valuable but he does have meaningful items I don't think he realizes would hurt if they were lost. But just u know, if they steal food if they steal money they musta needed it.

Killing is obviously a bigger deal... He doesn't feel comfortable with the thought. take another mans life?? dont do that thats scary :/ hsghhg

Knowing what Dorian did and why he did it, though, I know Mutt understands and doesn't really judge him for it. It's different, it's different when you gotta protect yourself. And if Mutt was in a self defense, him vs the other guy situation like that, he thinks he could do it.. He fights pretty good but I think he'd be too scared to pull the trigger so to speak.

23: how would you describe their voice? can they sing?

Oh I notoriously bad at voice headcanons. To you I would simply say the "…ohkay" voice and to everyone else you get *checks notes* country twang. He talks slowly and carefully and he never really says more than necessary. Probably can sing decently well, yea. Dunno how often he does though..

Questions for cowboy dogboys: how do the gang handle their liquor, if they drink? Is there a specific cowboy or farm activity that Mutt really enjoys? Does Dorian try to help on the farm? Bonus: could you assign any Orville peck songs to them?

how do the gang handle their liquor, if they drink? Mutt: Mutt can hold his own, but you can tell when hes hit his limit when he starts getting weepy and nostalgic. Bea: Not sure if she drinks! 🤔 Undecided… But if she does I know she'd be doin just fine keeping up with Mutt. Dorian: one shot of whiskey and he's done for 🥴 oh but its okay he can manage TWO glasses of champagne before hes- whough,,, he's done for 🥴

Is there a specific cowboy or farm activity that Mutt really enjoys? I first imagined this was a sheep farm. So he likes sheep shearing,,, yearly lil seasonal haircut time.. More regularly just likes goin out to feed the animals and spend time with em they're his buddies he's very much a keep to myself all my friends are animals type of guy.

Does Dorian try to help on the farm? I mean, tries,,, maybe. 😳 I think he's gotta in exchange for a place to stay, at first so he does something yeah for sure. Not sure what he'd end up doing nothing sounds appealing to him can't he just lean against the fence and look pretty? It's tough work but someones gotta do it...

Bonus: could you assign any Orville peck songs to them? It took all my courage not to tack my absolute favorite Orville songs to them without actually thinking about it bc they are my favorites, but I did phew. Dorian gets my favorite Orville song anyway after such consideration, sorry baby boyyy.

26: how do they move? are they clumsy? light on their feet? do they use mobility aids?

Mutt: Hmm how to explain Mutt.. When he's working he walks strongly, confidently, he's in the zone etc. When he's around town, he feels a little out of place with his body, like he's not sure how to present himself around others. Keeps his head down often. Not clumsy per say, but you can tell when he's tired after a long day or has been drinking, he gets a little more, stumbling.

Dorian: Oh so dainty! You could easily assume he used to be a dancer. Dorian walks with his head held high (though he is subtly glancing down so not to step into anything gross...) He's both conscious of how he's presenting himself while somehow appearing effortless about it.

Bea: I could picture Bea walking with a bit of a limp, maybe an old injury acting up, especially after years of helping Mutt on the farm. I could see her using a cane from time to time, or a big ole walkin stick she found when hiking around the farm. She walks with confidence, though a bit different than Dorian, definitely has a certain swagger to her as she walks into a room.

30: do they smell like anything notable? Mutt: vaguely earthy and leather and campfire smoke, sweaty natural scents from the day etc Dorian: flowery perfumes, most notably rose or lavender, you can tell its perfume Bea: Herbs! I think she enjoyed gardening and would continue that practice when [moves in with the unnamed widow] with a nice herb garden! Good for her!

34: how would your character describe themselves? it doesn't have to line up with how they really are. (This one I had a harder time with I think they're still a bit too new to fully feel out this question 🤔) Mutt: "Just a hard worker, I try my best I mind my own business..." (man of few words… leaves out a lotta nuance about himself but he's scared to share too much..?) Dorian: "Talented, beautiful, need I say more? *bats eyes* Oh.. I do, hm? Well-" (proceeds to talk about himself for 8 minutes while Mutt stares on blankly 🧍‍♂️ ohkay..)

Dorian meets Mutt by ....... hiding in his barn to escape some trouble™, actually. 🥴

He needs a place to stay for the night and, sighs! It's not ideal, but it'll do!!! Mutt sees him sleeping in the hay the next morning and just *pokes you pokes you pokes-* WAH- stop barking at me what're you doin here????

Dunno how much Dorian shares about his situation yet but… Mutt probably offers to take him into town and I imagine Dorian stays there a lil while, still trying to lay low but hes doin his best out here!! Then they happen to meet again at the bar one day and they get to talkin'. Mutt probably gets sad drunk mode bc he's dealing with a lot rn, so maybe Dorian helps him back home..? He vaguely remembers how to get there!!

Then in the morning Mutt probably offers Dorian a place to stay if he can help out on the farm... he could use the help... and companyyy...
