I do think people tend to confuse Error's social cluelessness and disordered thinking for stupidity. Which feels really wrong to me. Error might come across as "stupid" because he doesn't grasp the idea of "sarcasm". When a voice tells him "good luck with destroying every au" (as in, yeah buddy, you are not gonna get there) he just responds with "Thanks for your support" and gets all giddy about it. Or the instance of someone wanting to get "boned" by him lol, he takes it literal and "stabs" the person (they were just a part of his imagination but my point still stands askjdhaksd). He has been isolated for a super long time, you really think the guy will be able to grasp the basic concepts of social conversations when he hasn't seen a real person in who knows how long? (and besides a lot of people don't get sarcasm so like lol what) We see him often make irrational decisions (due to his disordered thinking), his thought process isn't really linear it jumps from one thought to another. Obviously his decisions are "questionable" he often can't think clearly especially when he is overwhelmed. (Again white torture has a huge effect on people's minds and their thought process). Even then, he is still able to make strategic decisions such as getting rid of the Flowey equivalent as well as the Player so he can destroy the world without interruption. Him not knowing "Basic stuff" is all a consequence of his crippling isolation. Why would he know how to "properly eat" if he didn't have the need for that for decades. Why would he know what a fork is for, when he probably never sees one. Everything is basically new to him because he has to practically relearn everything. Everyone has something like that... something that they don't know how to use etc., in Error's case it is more extreme. Idk it makes me feel really icky because it's something that he can't do anything about lol. It's not like he can also just learn about it....Where in his day to day life does he have the need for forks or anything "normal". On top of that he is literally alone, there is no one to show him the ropes. He is not going to be able to figure something out, that he himself also doesn't have a clue about. It’s like making fun of a grandma with dementia for not knowing how to use technology. Only I guess this grandma is also homocidal, but that is not the point of this post LMAO.
