i hate the people being like “actually families won’t offer food to their guests if theyre poor or experienced famine :/ you’re a bad guest for expecting food” as if poor people aren’t extremely generous with food BECAUSE they know what it’s like to go without
like???
obviously it’s not universal but like… in my experience anyone who has experienced genuine poverty or food/resource insecurity has been like… extremely generous when they can afford to be and often even when they can’t :/
