15 may 2024—yay! what a dayyyyyy~ im tired but im also happeh and proud of mahself ♡ i finally got to start organizing our second room slash our walk-in closet hehe

i finished decluttering and arranging the first section which mainly consists of tops, mini skirts, and some shorts. i'll prolly move onto my dresses, sweaters, and sleepwear next. hehe.

i honestly feel happy and fulfilled today. i also got to watch a bunch of youtube vids, mostly smoshpit ones, while i was organizing, so that was fun. i also walked our furbebis quite a few tOimes throughout the day, and then cooked and ate a fave dish of mine, so hooray!

"It's almost daybreak. This is dangerous."

The words are whispered, barely a wisp of mist in the early morning; the dull hum of a heartbeat barely awakened. In the mere minutes where the earth holds her breath until the sun can grace her skies again, Kinrou steals what precious moments he can spend basking in the stoic warmth of his lover.

"I know. Now, hush and watch."

A stifled grumble, unspoken, hangs in the air. There's a swell of pride in Kinrou's chest — only he can make this powerful demon mum, with merely a word. He doesn't even need to gloat: Kokushibo's silent compliance when Kinrou reaches for his hand is proof enough. His hand is warm against Kinrou's.

"What are we even looking at?" Kokushibo asks. "And what in the world made you think of this?"

Kinrou shrugs and leans against a tree. The sun is rising from beneath the sharp horizon, painting swirling golds and fiery reds into the skies above.

"The sunrise," he says simply. "What else could it be? Has the centuries dulled your mind, my dear?"

Kokushibo doesn't rise to the bait. Instead, he replies: "You didn't answer my second question."

Kinrou sighs. A gust of wind blows through, weaves through the dancing grass to pull at his hair. He meets Kokushibo's eyes, and tries to ignore the intensity with which the demon stares at him.

"Because I've been seeing your face so much that I'm sick of it. That's why I took you out on a date. Happy?"

Kokushibo's brow furrows, and his eyes narrow. "Why won't you answer me directly, just for once?"

"I would," Kinrou replies. "If you'd stop asking stupid questions. Now, hush and watch already."

They didn't have much time left before the sun rose too high and any shadow they could have used to hide will vanish. Five minutes, Kinrou thinks. Five more minutes, before they absolutely will need to run. For now, he leans back and watches a sunrise he hasn't seen for decades now. The magic of novelty lingers, and the sight draws a feeling of awe from the demon.

He steals a glance from the Upper Moon One, perhaps to share in the wonder of the moment, or just to ensure that he hasn't left his side yet. Kinrou can't remember. Kokushibo is staring at him, watching him with as much adoration as he had previously shown the sun, and that look, it erases any coherent thought from his mind, washing everything away with a jumble of emotions too complicated, too pure, too euphoric to ever untangle.

Out of pure instinct, Kinrou leans in and kisses Kokushibo's cheek, earning a wide-eyed, flustered look from the demon. He snorts.

"Our five minutes are over," he says. Kokushibo blinks blankly at him. "Let's go back before we get killed."

As he tugs the Upper Moon One's hand to follow him walk away from the sun, he hears Kokushibo sigh. "You should really learn how to say something directly."

Kinrou keeps his face forward, away from his lover's gaze, to hide the flush of red dusting his cheeks.
