Sitting down on one of the many cushioned chairs, the gem swiveled it around to peer at the stage. She had chosen to enter a restaurant featuring their “signature karaoke night special” --- whatever the special might be. It wasn’t as if she appeared for the food, after all.
Yet something about the special seemed suspicious, especially when a daring spotlight landed on her broad form. With shaded eyes, Garnet raised her view to the light only a moment before someone took to the microphone on stage. Grinning, they pointed to her and a young woman seated across the restaurant (who looked just as confused).
Hearing what the announcer had to say, it became clear that it was their turn for a karaoke duet. And while she could certainly deny the offer and walk out, she decided to go along with it and approached the stage with long strides.
