did you ever get a response from the gorillaz team or whoever gives permission for cool stuff like this?

Sadly, no, but I do believe I'm in the clear since Gorillaz & their management are pretty loose with people making money off their IP.

I've sold fanart of Gorillaz before & rarely face consequences. Just a few dollars here & there, not like I'm make a fat stack.

But, to be safe -- I'll make the game for free & put online for free. My Patreon is merely optional (like a tip jar!)
