Gallifrey was gone...again.

It shouldn't have come as such a surprise to her, but it did. While the horrors of the Time War had been terrible, making her question her career choice even more since the last time she had regenerated, she knew nothing could prepare her for losing her home and people once again. As a member of the Celestial Intervention Agency ─ err... well, former member, she had once believed she was making a difference in helping Gallifrey, it's people, and preserving the Web of Time.

But after all that had happened with Koschei and since parting from him, Ailla began questioning things before finally quietly parting ways with the CIA to think to herself.

Which lead her here, sensing another Time Lord around, wondering who could have escaped the destruction. Either way, she had to be careful and cautious.

Ailla walked up to them, looking him over. "Are you okay? I mean no harm."

"A fool. An ass. Take your pick." He might have said that he wasn't one for yelling, for losing his cool, but that wasn't really true, was it? Not in this body. He tried, of course, to be patient, to give kindness and compassion, but the Master always did have a way of driving him to a darker place, to an edge that he did not want to cross.

"Look at yourself. Look at all of this." An arm gestured outwards, though it was more of a figurative thing. "When will it end? How many lives have to be destroyed before you're done? The world? The galaxy? The universe? Will you not be sated until you are the only living creature left? And what then? What happens when there is nothing left to destroy?"

A pause, and, for a moment, he looked only at his dearest friend. "You've made a villain of yourself, but it doesn't have to be this way."

The Doctor lay in the campus quad, long white cane in the grass beside him, eyes shut against the bright sun. Two classes, one twice a week in the mornings, the other once a week in the evening; the rest of his time, aside from marking, he spent doing as little as possible.

He turned his head as he sensed someone standing over him.

"It's not the same as the two suns of home," he said, "but it still feels nice, particularly when you've got old bones, like me."

Rose had gone one way and the Doctor had gone the other searching for the alien. Realizing she was lost and alone, she'd picked up a pipe and carried it like a cricket bat, ready to swing if the creature threatened to attack her. She knew the Doctor detested weapons, but she was only human. He was Time Lord and could change his face if he got hurt. She only had one life.

She carried on down the corridor with a torch in one hand and the pipe in the other. She suddenly could hear someone laughing.

"'Ello!" She called. "Ya shouldn't be 'ere!" She yelled out, running towards the laughter. "There's an alien here and it'll kill ya if it finds ya!" She warned.

“But where are you from?” Gene pressed, leaning against the console as she watched him work. Her eyes, dark and curious, traced over his face, as if she might glean some fragment of his history just from studying his face.

“You call yourself The Master, but that’s a title, not an answer… Master of what? I don’t think you’ve even said what a timelord is. Alien, sure, but… what does that tell me about who you are?” Gene leaned forward a little further. There was no accusation in her voice, only confusion. “I’ve been following you up and down the Vortex… why bring me along, if you’re not gonna talk to me?”

   Gods, curse this stupid, useless pocket watch. Always taking her    to places where she wanted least to be, & right back to people    she had stumbled into already again... No, wait- That was new.    Why was she back here & with him?

   What did she say? She doesn't DO staying! & yet her watch    seems to have different plans.

        ❝ ALRIGHT. Fine !! Fine. Since I apparently have            nowhere better to be... ❞

   Despite her irritation, it doesn't stop her from being polite, extending    her hand for him to shake if he wished to.

"Wait, hold on!" Casper adjusted his glasses, examining the other man. Slowly, a smile crept across his lips, relief and excitement etched in his eyes. "It is you!"

He took a step closer. "Doctor Casper Darling? We met before, a-at my workplace - sorry, former workplace...unless you-...perhaps you haven't got to that yet. Time travel and all. Starting to understand how that feels a little."

He shrugged, smiling wearily despite it all.
