      “ Caroline --” It had only been a week since she’d gotten out of the hospital,                               and he hated to admit that he hadn’t seen as much of his girl                               as he would have liked. But it was all still so raw; almost loosing                               her had been a blow to his ego, and if he couldn’t even take care                               of his flesh and blood what hope did the rest of the town have. He                               was feeling like a failure and taking it out on Caroline, by not talking                               to her at all. 

      “ You sure you’re ready to go back to school?          You can take a couple more days if you want,          no rush. Maybe I can...we can do something          just the two of us.”
