You know how into science I am — and especially the science of skin care. From the first product I ever tried from LA-based Mxt. Custom Skincare nearly a year ago, I’ve been wowed. In all, I think I’ve made about a dozen custom formulas — including a remarkable aloe cleanser and a multi-molecular Hyaluronic Acid serum. I thought I’d go deeper this time and make something that could perhaps treat something more vexing: irritation and redness. So I made Redness Therapy Serum Concentrate! There are only a few times that I find my skin visibly irritated; it’s not a daily battle for me. My skin becomes irritated if I push too hard with a Glycolic Acid treatment. It becomes inflamed if I try a product that contains high levels of volatile fragrant plant “essential oils”. And, ugh, my skin acts up during the entire months of January and February. The harsh cold just slays my complexion. As with all Mxt. formulas, this one starts packed with goodness. I just refined it a bit to customize it for my skin. The Redness Therapy Serum Concentrate has a triad of irritation soothers. Gotu Kola Extract is an herb similar to parsley that’s used to treat burns, scars and other extreme forms of skin irritation. Yarrow Extract calms sensitivity and can even soothe acne-inflamed skin. Esculin, derived from Horse Chestnut, helps soothe inflammation and minimize blotchy skin. And you know I love an oily, silky texture!
