"Row?" He calls out softly to the child, kneeling down to make it more comfortable for her to talk to him. In his hands there is a box of chocolates that he got for the girl. It felt unfair not to let her indulge in sweets today. "Here, this is for you" And he was certain his twin would come along later with a tart or some other dessert too.
At the sound of her name, the girl gasped. “I know who! I know——!”
Finding Cyrus, she fell to her knees before him, not caring in the least that doing so meant staining her skirt and the front of her leggings with shirt. Her little hands patted impatiently at her legs, whole body bouncing slightly. She had gained so many new friends recently that it was impossible not to become excitable the moment she saw one of them.
The box presented to her brought out yet another sound of surprise. She took the box, pulled off its lid and squealed with delight at the sight of so many little chocolates. Two were shoved into her mouth at the same time, melted chocolate and their assorted insides gumming up her mouth. “S’ank you, Bro’her Cy’us.”
From behind her back, she pulled out a little bag of candies. None were chocolate, but all were small and colorful and shaped like little flowers. It was slid to Cyrus with a small smile surrounded by puffy cheeks. After she swallowed, however, she offered the smallest and most worrying of explanations.
“I saw them in a shop. I took ‘em, but you can have them now.”
