I’ve done this so many times before but I just loooove comparing my before and after gifs

How do you color multicolor hair? I struggle with it and would love to know how you do it!!

i’ll demonstrate with dia first

first i use multiply layer to color everything, then i use the magic wand tool to single out dias hair

i normally have the blue highlight off but i’m keeping it on to demonstrate lol

then i just add some lines like this

and after that i use the smudge tool, i change the size depending on the panel

then i erase some parts and add her eye color (or i do her eyes before coloring her hair), i also sometimes use smudge on the eyes too in a circle motion

again depends on the panel lol

after that i’m done lol

now with euc

i do her hair first unlike with dia, still with a multiply layer

then i make another layer for soft light and color in the blue part again

then i just color everything else in the multiply layer

and Walla lol

Right? I’ll have a folder for my lineart, a folder for colors, and then somewhere along the lines there’s, idk a layer that doesnt’ really belong in this folder so I’ll put it somewhere else and--whoops I just deleted the folder

Color Process of moosoppart ‘s OCs Jeremy and Marius. (Sorry for the low quality.)

After sketching, I start out in SAI for line work and flats.

Then I go into Photoshop for shading. I block shadows and then using a low-opacity low-flow Multiply setting (with the shadow color) I manually add in a gradient-type effect.

With the same low-opacity low-flow setting, I take the light colors and use Linear Dodge (Add) to manually add highlights for the gradient.

To give it a warmer look, I simply added an Orange photo filter and I adjust density to whatever I feel looks right.

Finally comes the background where I layer 'bubble' or 'bokeh'-like shapes using a custom crackle brush used for Manga shading. Then on top of that I use a gradiented halftone brush.
