Okay so I find the slightly dumb character funny and I love the trope of a character thrust into a new situation where they’re out of their depth but you know what I love more than either of those? The dumb character or the character out of their depth suddenly getting the chance to show off their expertise. They’ve been relying on everyone else to tell them things all story and then all of a sudden they encounter something they know and they can step up and lead and inform and they’re in their element. I just love it so much it’s my favourite trope
