That feeling when you see two of your fics favourites' numbers on your ffn profile go up but don't get a notification in your gmail inbox that they've been favourited 🤷♀️
Hmm. The ffn app and the desktop site must not be syncing again oh well 🤷♀️

Sooo... "Five Times Manny Hugged Diego" just passed 9k overall hits in the legacy hits counter on ffn. 👀
Cruel Intentions: Lacrimosa's overall hits have reached my birth year!! I took this screenshot to celebrate!! 😊😊😊
Also, oh wow, L's about to reach 10k overall hits!!! 10k!! *head asplode*
1 & 5 for Lacrimosa!
Aww thanks so much for the questions!
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
Welll... it goes back to that extremely vivid dream I had in 2009, involving Diego, Peaches, and a mysterious antagonist - a tigress.
Before that, like pointed out in my other reply, I had a very different story in mind - I just wanted to write a nice fluffy Manny & Diego & Peaches father/uncle daughter/niece fic, though a mammoth as a villain was part of that original concept for the fic when I was calling it, "My Two Dads."
That dream altered everything though and eventually the overall fic changed from "My Two Dads" to being called "Cruel Intentions" and "Lacrimosa" was originally intended to have only FIVE (yes, five!!) chapters but considering that I'm about to post chapter 16 at the end of this month that didn't happen...
So, basically, the inspiration - the M2Ds concept + the vivid dream - melded together into what has become my "Cruel Intentions" series.
I really hope I can complete L this year because I really wanna get truly to work on CI, since I already have 20k words and basically two 10k chapters written for CI bk 1 at the moment...
5: What part was hardest to write?
Nothing really so far! However, "Lacrimosa" is heading into its collision course of mammoth vs sabres + the humans are coming fuller into the picture + The Scarlett has schemes up her paw... and it seems each new chapter (if you seem my posts referring to them) deal with a new emotional crisis or trauma, I think they might be.
But, from what I remember from when I first began writing Lacrimosa at the start 8 years ago, nothing was really "hard" to write per se.
I try not to get too attached to my OCs or my Diego/Theo pairing because this is a story where Anyone Can Die, so...
CI: Lacrimosa's 11th Anniversary! 🎉🎉
So, my plans to update Lacrimosa with L18 on 5/26 have apparently fallen through, but I wanted to make a post about my Ice Age longfic in celebration anyhow!
As a bit of reflection, this was an unintentional Up to Eleven fic, because at the time, when I initially posted it in May of 2011, such fics delving into the stark beauty of the Ice Age and giving a harsher look at Diego's backstory were uncommon, as was the extensive (historically-based) world-building I imbued Lacrimosa with.
IA4's release and Shira's inclusion into the franchise in 2012 brought L into a long halt around L14 - because I wanted to remove the campfire frame device only to later realise MAYBE I SHOULDN'T - and I would only return to CI: Lacrimosa in 2021, 8 years later.
In the 8 years since, Ice Age fandom has ebbed and flowed and changed, and many of my dear old fanfic friends haven't come back to the story, but I have made new dear friends and this makes me so happy to see that people still appreciate this story.
Well, here's to you, CI: Lacrimosa! :) I hope I can finish you this year, the year of your momentous 11th Anniversary!

You may not remember me, but I go by the name Firecat. Long time no see. Anyways, enjoy.

Oh my gosh thank you so much anon!! Also I do think I remember you! I do recall talking with someone on DeviantArt years ago who went by the name Firecat15. Is -or was - that you? :)
Also, I love this so much!! This is such a lovely depiction of human! Brede (spoilers ;)) (how did you guess that Nadia looks up to Br’ede too? :D) and I feel like you really captured her majesty and iciness.
In human form she would be kinda of Elsa-like (as in, Elsa could easily be her humansona) so I love seeing Brede throw the snowflakes around her! :3
Oh and anon, so you’ve been keeping up with CI: L then since I resurrected it? What do you think of the plot so far? :)
Oh and it just hit me but you made Brede here look similar to how I imagine the Ancient Mothers of Nadia’s first pov would look I love it!! 💗💗💗💗
I keep forgetting that I have some half-written Ice Age one-shot WiPS.
I am looking over one at the moment that was based around an AU of IA1 where Diego is a teen, instead of an adult, called "Second Sons" since it's from Manny's perspective about him adopting, in a way, Roshan and Diego, throughout the journey to Half-Peak and thorough examination of the grief that haunts him and it's kinda REALLY dark in parts. ;P
Sid as well of course but Sid and Manny … I just never got the impression of them ever being that close.
This story originated from a fic idea I did that was a subtle crossover of Rise of the Guardians and Ice Age that was an animalistic rendition of the famous scene in RoTG where Jack saves his sister on the ice.
I do enjoy this idea becos I love Diego and Manny and Peaches familial stuff so maybe I find return to this "Second Sons" fic and complete it... it might be a really long one-shot though...
