Sick

My boyfriend was sick yesterday with a low grade fever .

After dinner with his parents ,

(my grandfather expressed shipped ,as a gift to his parents , very nice cuts of steak from our ranch including T/bone and porterhouse , and a lot of other farm fresh goodies , that they were kind enough to grill and serve while I was there )

he stayed with me for awhile, but then got up to go home

I told him he was home , and to shower , get in the bed and let me take care of you.

Wtf?

He said he was not accustomed to that , and a girlfriend caring for him while he was ill.

I guess it takes some time to adjust to understanding being a couple means sharing experiences together,

the good and the bad ,

and most importantly knowing someone has your back when you are down

I am glad I could give him his first really good experience with something .❤️🥺💫

Trauma

and coping with it in your new relationship

I did not really discuss my past with my fireman.

I felt that I currently had it under control

I thought he did not notice anything anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️.

but one night I was having a paralyzing nightmare, and I woke up feeling his arms around my shoulders .

I moved softly so as not to wake him.

but he squeezed me harder ,

and that was when I realized he was not asleep at all, but had held me throughout my nightmare the whole entire time

The next time it happened , he got up , made a pot of coffee , and said ‘let’s talk’

It was 2am or so in the morning ,my hair was a mess, very wild 😪😔

…I was not my best

He did not seem to notice , and we talked .

Now he knows ,

I thought he would run away after that shitfest life story I told him , in fact I was preparing myself for it

but he said we’d get through it together .

He actually said that . That was when I began to hope that just maybe we would last ❤️🌸💫

Some of you guys ask me to write about my boyfriend and the trials of a new relationship

Honestly, there are no problems

At all 🤷🏽‍♀️

Sometimes I am afraid something will go wrong ,

I am not accustomed to relationships without internal conflict .

My relationship with him is just peaceful.

We communicate and do most things together , when we are not working .

That is my life .

I am happy ❤️🌸💫

My firefighter is training for a iron man type competition this summer .

He told me I was his training partner😶 .

We jumped rope and trained on obstacle courses. (Unfamiliar with this , so unsure how to explain it )

I was SO afraid of letting him down , and prayed my leg would not give out .

God was with me and it did not .

We took a shower together afterward and rubbed each other down with ointment ❤️😂🙈💫

Difficult Conversations & Hard Choices

I have noticed for that last couple of days , a negative aura within my boyfriend.

Last night I asked him directly what was wrong ,

And was genuinely surprised when he told me I had not changed my status update as he had on our social media ,

And he felt that I was still toofriendly with guys he felt liked me

Today I corrected all those things my firemen had concerns with .

I hope this helps our relationship along 🙏🏽

I deeply encourage married and those in relationships to honor their partners as well, even when they are not present .

No one should believe you are single when you are not .

I chose not to knowing led a double life ❌

Character is what we choose to do when no one is watching, imo

Insecurity

My new partner

(not ready to call him my daddy just yet , daddy is more than a title to me )

Is very healthy and athletic.

He likes to do things, that as a disabled person or someone accustomed to dating older man …50+ ,

I am not accustomed to doing .

Today with his encouragement, I joined his team for softball .

Initially, I told him he could go alone , but he said we needed to learn to do things together , as a couple .

Even if we were not interested in the activity 💡

So this morning , I played

It took me forever to run around the bases (and it was a miracle that I made it around with out getting out 🤔🌹)

(So sad considering I ran track and was on the cheerleading squad throughout high school and undergrad )

Anywhose,

He told me he was proud of me , and that I had did a good job today . 🥺

Those fireman and their families were also really supportive too

Healthy vibes and good energy throughout the event.

I could not have asked for more .❤️🌸💫
