ah memories. today I was in one heck of a memorable mood. and with my current want to write but having story paralysis i decided 'why don't you post up about some of your old story ideas and just let them be out there in the public' and here we are. i have made so many of these so i really am gonna be probably gonna be grouping these up. from ideas i have that are kinda consistent to ideas that are just kinda passing like a trend but were there for a moment.
what better way to start then with the very thing that jump started my friendship with @brightlotusmoon double mutation mikey ideas!
now lets start with my very first one i had. which wasnt set in 2003 with good genes. it was set in 2012(allot of my ideas were made for 2012 but i have a feeling if i tinkered enough i could fit them for other series) but back to my story idea
the idea was for a one shot to possible mini series i think i called sparking shell? something like that. the first one shot was gonna be in leos p.o.v before karai was gonna mutate to a snake,as he describes realizing how much mikey knows things and ways to comfort people that maybe he shouldn't know. like getting april to buy him some of karais favorite foods for a more traditional meal for her first night there (eel in the case of this story) and leo begins to see mikey in abit of a different light. mikey and leo both chased after karai this time as she tries to get her vengence.
the fic was gonna end with mikey saving karai but getting dunked in the mutagen instead(he was inside a cage with her and push her away) resulting in him mutating into one of 2 double mutated turtle hybrids based on the meal they ate(so eel or a jellyfish because he did try it)
but that was my very first idea i ever made for tmnt.
after i saw werewolves i kinda wanted to do something with that and mikey but i dropped that idea. still think tmnt werewolves look pretty cool
i think my last ever idea for double mutation mikey was a good genes esque idea in 2012. i think i called it great genes or something like that. in the idea mikey slowly was getting mutated by a new kind of weapon the krang had used on him in dimension x(that donnie didnt notice the additions in his blood yet) it would coalece in some form of breakdown enhanced acceleration of the mutation(i belive it began to happen after aprils mom and the like) that would end with him fully mutating during the events of fourfold trap. the form looks allot like slash and 03 donnies forms but still mikey like. every place he got hit with those experimental krang weapons have orange splotch marks or tiny orange dots. there was also a supernatural element to it all because mikeys own spiritual power(i believe i also gave him a power called light of caring or shine of caregiving? a comfort producing power i thought was perfect for mikey) he hadn't honed into actively prevented the mutation from spreading too far(only getting a glitch in its defenses when his spirit was low on itself and dim). and it might have been the key to his transformation back to loveable mikey as the hamatos go and try to help mikey from the problems inside and out of his body.
i think thats all of them. one other idea i think played on mikeys insecurites on display in shellache. some kind of special shifitng mutation that let him be what he thought his brothers and family wanted(or what he needed to be) at the cost of some of what made mikey well... mikey.
and well thats it. for now that is. probably will my various reincarnation ideas i made back in the day.

well idk if this'll be super cringy or exposing of my minds inability to not latch onto random things... but I'm doing a series of idea notes so let's keep going. this time i cover something big. all the elements I've used with mikey, and there are allot of them. maybe show what i have figured out definitively as the element for him.
so straight away ill admit that many of these ideas came from the fics i made or by what i seen other people bring to the table as the element they think mikey would represent.
lets start with the most popular one of all. element of light essentially mikeys bright and vibrant spirit and heart as a literal force in of itself. and we do see it often when he does have access to some sort of otherworldly power its very very bright.
the element of air/wind/oxygen is next. if there is an element i see next to light it would be the free moving and detached breeze that is wind(or if you get into elemental circle stuff the life giving power of oxygen) interesting i have seen 2 fics where mikey is the earth element(and spring as well) and donnie is air instead.
the next one id say is a shoe in for mikey and elements is lightning/electricity. out of everytime mikey was given a power twice it was electric related. with the mystic weapon inazuma in 03 and mikey getting (and using it very well) lightning powers after a death and revival. an interesting sort of thing to see if i have to say so myself.
most recently we also had the element of fire with rise mikey. i think one of the only time id seen that beyond some firebender mikeyideas
but what about some of the wierder elements i have thought of over my stories.
the element of plants or plant life. coming from 2012 mikeys mystic quest being given the kanji for forest. i do enjoy messing with that in a few ideas. well that and allot of my initial ideas for mikey in orange wisteria was for him to use flower breathing with his insect breathing
the element of sound perhaps you could connect this to neo sunlight my old reincarnation fic idea but i mostly connected this to the huge connection between mikey and music/sound as a whole.
i have occationally tried to use the element of spirit. usually to represent that light in my eyes because of a certain 2012 scene id seen of mikey with bright glowing nunchucks for a moment. this was before i made spirit energy what it is.
at the end of the day i have a very unsual grouping i associate with mikey element wise
electricity,sound,light,fire,plants,wind and even darkness(cause for every bright light there's a darkness and i blame cloak and dagger especially for this idea that never left) are the usual elements chosen for any mystical or spiritual power for mikey.
but i usually pick some sort of theme of some kind. support/healing/poison,deception/illusion,relatively normal damage these are the usual themes with the powers.
truly idk whether to cringe at my choices or think about how i subconciously took pieces i saw of mikey in different series to make different themes or elements from what made mikey well... mikey(like his kindness for healing, or his natural goofball and trickster nature for illusions,or his possible want to help by the power becoming something support based over traditionally damaging. heckc even if the power was spiritual,magical,or psionic in nature)
this could probably also be a sign of literally seeing something shiny and new and hoarding the new element or idea into a little treasure pile or fixation on something that i really really can't explain

so, time for the sequel to this post. thats right were going over my supernatural double mutation ideas. ideas where mikey or his brothers got extra mutations or changed in some form or another via supernatural means and changes. hoo boy. let's to
funny enough some of these ideas do run very similar to each other but for now lets cover my first supernatural double mutate idea. a story i call the fae hive a story very inspired by stories like the gravitation collapse series and similar ones where mikeys friends and family separate after splinter died and leave him alone in new york. in this case it results in mikey coming across a very plant to survive. said plant turned him into a fae. and when the brothers and their friends finally come back to new york well... it's a fae war zone now. and a few villains from other series seem to have been made by someone's hands as their children.
this story was one that i actually did make a one shot for in my one shot/idea book
my next idea never got a name but it was a 2007 fic idea. where before leo left to train they all got double mutated into supernatural beings. each with a certain sort of elemental power. leo gained water power,raph fire,donnie was elelctricity,and mikey was wind(i think i gave him a autumn vibe) in the story mikey lost an arm due to a very heated battle between raph and leo that results in both of them going on a trip in shame. not just leo this time.
now those ideas were during a sort of fae phase i had when @brightlotusmoon and i talked about fae and mikey being like one.
these next 2 ideas are inspired by a different type of creature sometimes calle a fae. the kitsune.
fic one i have a one shot on just like fae hive. one i call sunny tails
the one shot is after the events of the idea but its based off another cool fic i seen(maybe i should be disappointed or worried about all these ideas not originally come up with but very inspired by other people's fics or ideas) in this idea its a classic 'no one believes mikey' deal only this time its drastic and mikey pays a price by making a deal to save his brothers from 4 monstrous kistune they collectively disrespected with their disbelief in the legends and myths and such callous disrespect to their masks. this idea is one i enjoyed doing because i liked the idea of messing with all the various types of kitsunes and making my own psionic comfort yokai branch with a type of kitsune in it. the comfort kistune.
my last kitsune idea is another super old idea where mikey was mutated with a kitsune mask. this time one related to wind and the spirit element. this idea involved a 2012 version of the mystic City(something i occasionally mess around with) even a ship i was intrigued in back in the day i began to call glow sticks(i might divulge it but maybe not. abit of a surprise) it was a 2012 mikey ship between someone in rise)
one more idea this time doesnt feature kistune but features cats. mikey gaining some form of cat themed blessing at a shrine he hid out in when he and his brothers were pulled into usagis world by jei. i had given his nunchucks some kind of shifting power. and gave him more of a monstrous cat form as opposed to something super cute. something like cat bowser or meowser
(edited in 10/20/25) i forgot about a supernatural double mutation that involved a rabbit,speed and kinetic energy powers, and the flash
one more footnote of an idea i can remeber was possibly doing a werewolf inspired double mutation story

not even 24 hours and I'm back again with some more of my fic ideas. in this case it's a different bundle of ideas because this one has a fic out and about.
I'm talking reincarnation mikey ideas. fics where he's either the reincarnation of someone else or someone else reincarnates into mikey.
this time i know for certain that i only have 4 reincarnation ideas as opposed to the missing supernatural double mutation mikey ideas from the first post.
but let's get started shall we!
lets cover the first 2 ideas because theres not too much to them. 2 other renditions of my demon slayer tmnt fic i call orange wisteria a fic where mikey is the next life of insect hashira Shinobu kocho. but that wasn't my original idea for the reincarnation.
my initial ideas before i settled on shinobu included zenitsu and mitsuri. who i thought fit some vibe that could fit mikey in some way(lighting effects and speedy from zenitsu, the literal cat sound filled breathing called love breathing from misuri) but ultimatly i did find allot of neat paralells between 2012 mikey and shinobu
a weapon that's best suited to shallow piercing attacks as opposed to stabbing or super deep cuts
some of the fastest of there group if not the fastest of there groups
a connection to insects/plants(i know its only via turflytle so i threw in plants because 2012 gave mikey that forest element vision quest)
having been eaten by there enemies(in mikeys case he was eaten twice)
and the biggest one for me that really helped me seal the deal. was the massive amount of anger they don't use or show very often.
also didn't hurt that mikey in 2012 has been show to be not too bad at chemistry. and shinobu was the demon slayer corps main medic.
but if you ever wanted to see the other ideas don't despair! i have begun the idea of shifting those 2 into other tmnt iterations( allot/ most of my stuff is based in 2012 so yeah there's that) but i fortunately have a mikey who used electrical powers and a deceptively strong one in the batch of all them that exist. so not a hard change to make.
but lets move on to the more in universe/multiverse reincarnation ideas. these ones go the other way. instead of mikey being a dead characters next life he's the past life this time around.
in this case they're rottmnt crossovers.
grasping the blue sunrise: in this fic mikey reincarnates into honorary Michelangelo and fellow battle nexus champion himself, rise leo. which i wanted to do after i saw a fic where someone tackled that themselves. only one chapter of that fic and they didnt cover it or hint at it to my knowledge
and my other fic was called chasing Neapolitan sunlight( or something along those lines) this was inspired by a fic where mikey went by the name casper. can't remember the fic all that well beyond it being it being of those he gains a family in rise fics. i belive i named him casper becaus ehis headband is white instead of orange( but its always stained with other color paints including the colors for true neopolitan ice cream) mikey in this fic had a whole sound thing going on with his mystic weapon and his ninpo abilities(what was it sound grenades and all sorts of powers relating to colors of noise? i think thats what i did. been a long time since i did so idk) in this story he also wielded weapons remanicent of his families weapons(leo,raph and aprils within his mystic weapon, a twin Jutte pair that turned into tessen and had a hidden blade) casey and donnie with his non mystic weapon he still had(a staff that turned into a scythe version of the classic hockey stick. kusarigama for himself) his final mystic ninpo weapon was sort of a hybrid of them all but base form was a kusarigama.
yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh I was crazy a few years back. i also had an aversion to giving sonic scream as the power and wanted something else when i could have went very very simple. but I've grown to care for it and not think it's the easy way and boring way out. this fic also involved mikey(or casper) being some sound themed relaxation radio personal. but he did get to see the hamatos form his past life again... but only a year passed since he died when he's clearly a teenager now.
and well i think thats it. i had only 4 ideas. these rise ones are somewhat shelved to my knowledge. maybe I'll make them return in a different way.
the noise themed powers never died down for me. i did still try to make them but i never did figure out concrete ideas cause i kept messing sound with them.
