Ohhhh are we doing a fact for a fact? DONE DEAL!
Rhodri's favourite colour is black. The story goes, according to her father, that she decided this when she was just about two years old and she met her twin siblings Mazarin and Evander (next born after Rhodri, who is eldest). Her parents had been hyping her up about getting sibs as a gift to her, and she was completely and totally smitten with them from the first.
Didn't really look at their faces, though, god bless the little autistic kiddo. What she noticed was that they both had thick crops of black hair, and that was what she associated with them. From that moment on, she insisted on having everything in black. Her clothes had to be black. Bedsheets, pillows, books, everything of hers black. She wasn't talking much at that point, but she wasn't calm unless she either had something black to hold (while watching the siblings), or could actively stroke her siblings' hair. Black is love and devotion and two little heads of soft, dark hair.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I'll just sit and vibrate excitedly while awaiting a fact back @D@ hope you're having an amazing day!! <3 <3 <3
Tell me a fact about your oc(s) and I'll share a similar one about mine. 🙌 - @wild-houseplant the more I learn about Rhodri the more I fall in love with them. I'd wondered why it was black was their favorite and this is just about the sweetest answer you could have given me so thank you for that. ToT <3
Revka has been close to Ceral from the start - a benefit of there being such a large age gap between the two of them. She was eleven when he was born, and doted on the little curly haired baby constantly. After their parents passed away she insisted - despite the Hahren's concerns for her ability to do so - that she remain the caregiver for Ceral rather than seeing him lost to another elven family or Maker forbid, another Alienage.
Her relationship with Ceral, because of her shift into a caregiver rather than just a sibling when she was only sixteen, is an odd mix between the two. Revka sacrifices just about everything - her free time, her relationship with Arden, her coin, hell even her meals some days - to provide for him. She is loyal and devoted to her brother as she can be - to the point where she hides his magic from the guard for as long as she can, and tries (very unsuccessfully - this run in is what led to her recruitment into the Wardens) to intervene when a pair of Templars come to lay claim to him.
But that loyalty and devotion also brings strain to their relationship once Ceral is old enough to want to become his own man and make his own path. Given she's spent the whole of her young adult and adult life as the parental figure in their family, it's difficult for her to step back and not intervene, particularly when it comes to Ceral's role in the Inquisition. She tries, but it's a slow unlearning process.
A smaller fact for Ceral - one of the few possessions he's able to bring along with him to the Circle is a patchwork doll he's owned since he was about six years old - the first Nameday gift Revka made for him after their parents' deaths. His name is Ser Velvet, seeing as the bulk of his body is made up from spare swatches of velvet that Revka had left from one of her seamstress jobs. Ser Velvet - worn out and thinning in a few places - can still be seen perched on a shelf above his apothecary station once he moves into his room in Skyhold.
