my friends over at manta gave me a peak into one of their titles right in time for the season 2 premiere! for july, we're diving into "my master doesn't bite" and y'all are gonna LOVE this one!
bonus: the first four episodes are FREE until july 29 👀
❗MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD❗
let's kick it off with a new member of the cutie patootie fl community. this is lucy and lucy is, like many of us, in the trenches of the job market. i feel you, girl, unemployment blows 💀
lucy has found herself waiting for the master of a manor to come out and hire her. why is she so cool with waiting? well, the pay is INSANE and girlie needs the income. so, she waits......and she waits.....and then she wakes up after passing out bc, damn, no one is coming outside.
however, she sees a sign of life in the form of light coming from a window. awesome, someone IS home! less awesome, why are we still outside? well, that is solved real quick.....by an explosion......that promptly launches a rock right onto her head.....
that's rough, lucy. but, as she blacks out, she finally sees a silhouette through the flames....
well, talk about one hell of an entrance. the master of the manor finally appears and, oh no, he's cute.
this is skar, a half-dragon with a temper. don't let the tattoos fool you, he is simply adorable. i love this lil guy.
skar has some trauma, as many a ml do, and he's not too keen of lucy from her hair alone. you see, she just so happens to have the same hair color and haircut of a human that experimented on him as a child. i get it, man, i truly do but good luck on getting rid of lucy. spoiler: he fails.
the relationship between lucy and skar is extremely entertaining and im loving every second of it. due to a history of past maids trying to climb into his bed, lucy lies and says she has a husband in order to keep this gig. solid move at first but unfortunate when skar starts catching feelings for what he believes to be a married woman. im not one for the miscommunication trope but this one is downright hilarious.
im still catching up but this is definitely a new favorite of mine. i love how cute both fl and ml are and im looking forward to the more....spicy aspect of their relationship to hit. this is a promising title and i highly recommend giving it a try!
thank you again to my friends over at manta, another solid title in a very impressive catalogue 😍
Hi! I’m back with yet another Manta Reviewers Club post. As always, these posts are sponsored, but opinions are my own.
This week, I'll be talking about a title I (once again) had quite the fun reading, My Master Doesn't Bite. Let's jump right into it!
Currently, the first 4 chapters are free to read! Manta is also running a free gem event on X (previously Twitter), and all you need to do is to choose your side and claim your 60 gems! Plus, if you unlock the latest chapter (S2 Episode 34) you can claim 30 gems back.
Here's the official summary Manta provides for My Master Doesn't Bite:
Tempted by the high salary, Lucy, a maid, goes to work at a remote mansion. Her new employer is Skar, a hot-headed half-dragon said to hate humans. Despite his initial skepticism of her, Lucy starts to grow on Skar. But with his fiery outbursts, can Lucy successfully cool the flames of his temper?
Lucy is an incredibly fun character to read and just the fact that lives on copium is so relatable xD. As long as she can get the unbelievable salary that is beyond what she could save up with a lifetime worth of saving, she's prepared to hold onto her job no matter what. She's worked at much worse places for chump change, anyway. A taciturn dragon with weird contract terms and who rarely shows himself is a piece of cake for Lucy.
The webtoon may be historical but the humor is pretty anachronistc. Both the fantasy and history aspects are loosely incorporated into the series, and the story not taking itself seriously keeps My Master Doesn't Bite casual and fun.
That being said, it is insinuated in the early chapters that both Lucy and Skar have troubled pasts, so them trusting and opening up to each other will take time and effort. But that's what we're here for! To accompany them on their journey.
With all the promotions going on, it's a great time to check out My Master Doesn't Bite. If you're looking for a series that is fun and has a hot (mess) of a half dragon male lead and a super charming female lead, maybe this is your sign!
