Timeline Nonsense I Need to Reconcile

(Mostly just for my own reference)

According to my Doctor timeline, he was 840 when Romana left. He was 1,519 when the Time War started. That’s a gap of 679 years to account for in her life

However, the most recent times (for him) that he met her were when he was in his eighth body but pre-war, so somewhere between 1,120 and 1,519. Narrowing it down to before and after specific events, and leaving a sufficient gap for other pre-war adventures, let’s say probably between 1,200 and 1,450. Which puts Neverland and Zagreus (and, for her, tae) between 360-510 years after Warriors’ Gate and leaves only 69-319 for all of Gallifrey, including any time skips. Don’t love that

For my ideal timeline to work, those numbers really need to be reversed

That’s before even getting into Gallifrey itself

Everything in the first 3 seasons, despite my best attempts, seems to happen one after another all in a row, and the absolute most I can get it to stretch is 4.5-5 years. And that’s pretty iffy

Season 4 is more ambiguous, because we know they have adventures in between the episodes, and it feels like enough time to grow truly close and also resigned, but still not more than a handful of years

Season 5 is similarly ambiguous, with enough time to change a society and establish new working communities, but still not more than a few years

But in season 6, it feels like a huge amount of time has passed back on Gallifrey. They’ve had multiple Presidents and an election. Plus a civil war. They got back the Matrix and damaged it again. They’re actually nostalgic for Romana, and I don’t expect their annoyances fade over the course of a single decade like humans’ would

And then, I have all sorts of evidence that there’s a long gap between Ascension and Enemy Lines (see my other post)

And then, there’s a bit of a time skip before Time War 1. Not a huge one, but enough time for Romana to be settled into her CIA position and the structure of the government to have shifted and settled

In conclusion: gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
