mewhen: there is a Taur a #taur a #taur

i really like taurs man i started this one back in december and abandoned it. Because i didnt Like it and i was fighting to balance out the anatomy and the actual functionality of the rig

but i got through it ! and this is probably my favorite+most creative rig ive made so far. I see taurs only sometimes and it Saddens me but also overjoys me because yes!!!!!!! that is a Taur. But i have never seen a bipedal taur before, with the body's weight going into the bottom half of the animal body instead of distributed evenly. I am phrasing it this way because i have, in this game's community, seen only One(1) non quadrupedal taur and it was a wyvern, but the weight of the body was also distributed evenly thoughout the body similarly to a quad taur

but i wanted one that had its upper body set upward- and suspended by the lower half instead of any forelimbs- by default for a higher range of mobility. And also i wanted some digit variation so the front feet could reasonably have almost humanoid hands(for tool use/climbing/dextrous activities) rather than typical animal front feet(which are similar to the back feet + primarily) suited for travel

Because the upper body is set above the ground by default, the front feet(which are hands) are left free and able to multitask more. I also just like long arms and sturdy claws a lot

I also enjoy the idea of a large thing thats high mobility while also retaining a high weight level and decent armoring. That its strong and active enough to effectively use that strength

I think the drawbacks of this build, is that while having decently high strength, speed, and defense, its stamina probably sucks. It wouldn't be able to hold onto a chase for long, and has to use its speed for short ambushes or altercations

also heres a version with the size maxed. Its default sizing I made sure to make the human half of the body around the same size as the default model's size, only a little taller and buffer by around 0.1-0.2 sizes i think. This one is 18 feet tall. The default model is 13.5 feet tall

i think im going to give steel regent more horror ish elements since he is actually semi biological, as he started out as biological(like a regular human), but morphed into what he is now over time, which was allowed each time he sustained damage

maybe his face can open up between the visor and bottom 'mandible' to show a set of teeth, and a pair of eyes within the dark of the mouth

which means i'll probably be giving him the ability to bite, but the mouth is not built to chew, because the muscle structures needed would take up too much space within in already crowned head. Which means it would only be built to open and close like a hinge, without any backward/forward left/right motion. The left/right motion would also be stunted because of the gear around his head, it would be fixed in place anyway

He is also surprisingly flexible, and again is much faster that something you'd expect for that size

im not sure if ill keep the bar things at the end of his wings pointed down like the previous version, or pointed upward like the most recent sketch. Or alternatively, they can rotate in place to fit whatever he feels the most comfortable at the moment. But thats unlikely

downward makes the flow smoother, upward breaks the flow and helps him look more imposing. basically

the 'wings' on his arms are also to help more with flow, since his old arms look like they were attached(them also being completely pitch black in contrast to the rest of his body having some variation also did not help. it was mostly so they could stand out, since he uses his arms a lot)

the larger knees and legs in general(that are like. wide but not by the sides, they have more depth) also help match with the thicker chest he has

whats not depicted are the feet i have planned, which he'll have 2-3 distinctive digits on each, which can help anchor him onto the ground, and grasping objects. He's also double jointed to allow himself more flexibility, so he could for example more easily scale a leveled platform. He could also pick up something with his feet to examine it, and leverage his weight into the other leg thats anchored into the ground so he wouldnt fall over with how top heavy he could be with the added wings.

this is mostly built off of the concept i had where he'd have a more harpy-esque form, which had these feet, and his arms shifted to become part of the wings(which is why this current iteration also has winglike structures on each forearm, because it draws off of that)

he's not really built for running, as due to the top heavy build and wings dragging him down i feel like it would be pretty inefficient. So he mostly flies instead, and to 'land' or stop somewhere he could grab and anchor onto a ledge with his foot, and it would naturally drag him back to that ledge instead of just skidding over it

This build also heavily favors rough and uneven terrain, but his ability to fly(because ive finally decided that yes, he can fly outside of his plane form. With enough media ive consumed that has mechanical characters flying just like that) can help him with open terrain traversal

i still have noidea what to call my stikbot story, as its one of my newer ones. So far it has only basic stuff covered, like how Kash and Lacey are brothers, they live in the city

Kash is more of a rule follower, not out of trust in the system- he hates it as much as lacey does, but out of necessity. He also worked his ass off so they could live a comfortable life in the city's inner walls, which also provides ground for why he's so hesitant to

the stikbot 'rebellion' group are well intentioned but they are also naive, as majority of them were cityborn, living well within the comfort of the capital(what the current draft says, this also counts towards Kash and Lacey)

Which means that the city is built in sectors(that are likely circular, the uniform shape helps solidify how order shapes the very lifestyles of the stikbots that live in it, and every single one of them had seen the wall that seperates their sector from the others), and the sectors are sorted by castes the heart of the city is

The city is also simply called 'The City' despite not technically being one(as it has a capital, a capital is a city on its own), and that in itself represents the oneness of it, how the city is built up to be the one place that stikbots could thrive in, that exile meant certain death

And it is, truly. i think the environment beyond the city walls is very barren, flat land that just begins to lead to a rocky desert. But there is no plants, no fauna, no sign of life, there is nothing out there

Except, for railways that lead farther beyond the horizon.

the reason why leland seems to have some connection to the other bots may be because he lived on the city's outskirts, or he. Which means his departure from the stikbot world may have been connected to Paradisio, the sword that he takes great care in making sure it doesn't end up in anyone else's hands(Such as the department of paranormal affairs)

Also, despite how significant Hands are and how they act as a turning point for the technology in the stikbot society, ive decided that they are more of a secret thing, and its only revealed like a good chunk later into the story, in a one off with K.I.N.G. for this im mostly thinking about a cinematic scene of his empty throne room, with the light of the setting sun cast through the windows

also KING's original name im deciding was violet. only one other person knows it and it's his one remaining old friend

breaking into a new rp server my friends made with some writing idk

plus some vampire visualizer i did a while ago so alalalala(the second depiction is a hypothetical restoration of the ancient/paleolithic vampire, which is not just an example but the actual last living specimen of the true vampire line. and also a very important character)

i like it a lot actually, i dont think ive done anything like this before, the whole species and following a specific line throughout larger swathes of time

also regarding human 'domestication' of vampires. it has gotten to the point where theres genetically engineered and lab grown vampires, which are basically just lumps kept suspended in a liquid, basically a vegetable, but technically a vampire, made to express a specific desired strain of something as well as making for easy extraction(in regards to studying vampires for medical research)

while im at it heres some other stuff i worked on today

first time i ever drew sparta/jules actually, i dont know if i talked about him that much, or at all.

Just know, hes a fraud, a bum, and a hoe. And hes crazy. it just has a yassify filter over it. Romeo thinks hes a lunatic. Jules is scared of Romeo because he kicked him in the nuts, and while he was doubled over pulled a gun on him

something something hypocrisy something something. But given some background romeo is actually pretty rational, he just hates jules. And also threatening him properly is the only way to get him to drop the act

Theyre both of the same original species i was writing up, which are basically just demons who take on the form of a more or less paleo accurate dinosaur. And they all actually behave as people, with their own individual goals.

As dinosaurs are demonized by media, and caricatures of demons are expected to be outright malicious

All of them draw also power from humans in some way or form. And they each have their own linked weapon they either keep on themselves at all times, or are capable of summoning at will

In Sparta's case, he draws energy from the feelings of glory and conquest of people, which most commonly comes through violence. Which is why he's typically found in the audience of underground fight clubs. He has a dagger, but mostly for use in his work instead of actually using it as a weapon.

I decided to make him a forgemaster(inspired by castlevania, except hes not human) because it seemed fitting for someone who doesnt like to do the dirty work, and also because he partakes in witchcraft already

I'm not sure about Romeo. He does wield a withered greatsword, however. Despite the title of being a cursed weaponsmith, he actually cultures cursed/cursebearing objects instead, theres no smithing involved, and it doesn't even have to be a weapon!

He can also seal certain entities in his weapons if the entity is weak or weakened enough at the moment.

In the past he would also get rid of competition this way, fighting other demons, defeating them and then sealing them

colorwise i had no idea what i was doing for isle guy, i just didnt like how i accidentally made him too bright, since im still getting used to krita's color triangle instead of color square like in magma. Im used to just manually selecting the shades i want straight from it, so, Agjhfdfsdk

since basically almost all my ocs are Guys I have been. Looking forward to making girl characters lately

Big Butch Harpy does Not count I don’t think because it’s a character that is co owned I’m sure

anyway i Was working on a new one later today. I set a rule I couldn’t make her butch because all the other girls are also butches

I frankly have no screenshots and I’m about to go to bed but her name is Lochāva and she’s an orchid mantis girl(though more humanoid based) with a scythe and she’s also actually a plant #becauseitscool

and she could be used more mythage when it comes out. For now I think she’d be used for pine ridge

I also have been thinking on what her people are like. Basically plant people that all look pretty similiar, builds between ‘male’ and ‘female’ are exactly the same

I’m not entirely sure if they have sexual dimorphism because they’re plants, but they’re allowed to have color variety based on different flowers I thibk. Specifically orchids, but that might change

I just like the idea of plant pretending to be a bug pretending to be a plant. Really good there

Not entirelly sure of gender and how gender works among them but i have a couple of ideas

All nonbinary or genderless by default, because their concept of gender is either different or nonexistent. This would make Lochava transfem I think because she goes from genderless to female

a variation of this would be more specifically the nonbinary route where they are like. Different kinds based on different things that im not entirely sure about rn

female centric society, where males May be smaller and weaker which would mean they take on lighter loaded roles, they also may be brighter because the brighter ones may be favored among their number to make up for less performance.

dealer is one of the few characters of mine i actually have a really firm grasp on the design on.

i spent a while trying to figure out his design, make it simple(but iconic) because for him it actually matters😭I Mean Other Characters too but for him a lot more so

and since his clothes are technically a part of his body it lets me get away with random bullshittery like having his Bare back out technically since a lot of my characters dont even show that much skin at all

and then theres a grey panel that is attached to the chest and midsection but becomes looser around the legs to form kind of 'pants'. Note Drop time because i spent prolly an hour talking about just his clothes and general design notes and i cannot afford to lose this behind hundreds of messages

regarding the scar. he cant heal anything 'self-inflicted', which also counts for any of his own magic that was turned on him
