i was reminded recently of his existence so i started reworking his sphinx version. it gets a name as well(weltanschauung). This is likely the saddest strain, not from tragic events but i think from how much potential was curbed. I wrote weltanschauung before the routes that came to define diamondback(CB+E) so,
basically he was betrayed, wounded, and left behind when the other person he was with got to escape via boat, except he still had the decoy module. So he watches them disappear off into the distance of the setting sun, before getting tossed into the air and the boat getting destroyed by alice
then from that wound he gets turned into one of the monsters over time, when he's fully turned does he finally begin to experience a 'clarity' of mind(after being in pain and paranoid for the past days)(its actually his mind beginning to dissipate and slip away), so he plays along since it is a very fulfilling power fantasy of sorts, he can act however he wants now after years of having to act a certain way and pertain to other people(slightly related to him masking for. Something, he's undiagnosed)
and he is just actively losing his mind, he's pretending to be mindless and stupid for the fun of it without knowing that's whats actually happening to him at the moment. It begins with him shedding his inhibitions, before he's slowly reduced to an unthinking animal
i also think its sad because of someone as accomplished as him, and one to have accomplished so much more, someone as clever as him with all that cunning just going to waste by something beyond his control, by circumstance, events, and also things beyond his comprehension. So anyways i like sphinx isle guy a lot

i probably talked about it in the other post about it but im too lazy to come looking
build wise im not sure about the coral growths, i just wanted it to reflect his taur version(which also got a couple names of its own[gestalt, the arc, cnidarion red, jeheq]), gestalt is the newest one and was added along with weltanschauung yesterday. the back feet i also imagine to be something like khanivore's(from sonnies edge, love death and robots)
ive decided to try building its size somewhere closer to the first drawing i made of it, biig guy
i also have the neck left and head left as you can see, but majority of the body building and also decorating/furring was done today(3-4 ish hrs), and i think yesterday was like 30 minutes because i didn't like how it was turning out at first so i gave up. the old one i spent two working days on, and if i went by how much time i spent on making rigs at the time i'd estimate it around 4 hours per working day, its also sitting around 52 acc since i did boot it up today to use as a reference
bonus wip shots, the first one was when i was starting yesterday, and what i started with today. sitting at 87 acc rn because i wanted to sculpt the body like i usually do instead of skipping to the fur that will cover it anyway. I Could remove it but like, i think i prefer the lag /sarc

im actually debating on how i should draw him now or if i should make a secondary artstyle just so i could have more of this. This is the only time i considered asking someone if they took commissions but that would be too awkward LOL
guy who gets a pepsi from the break room vending machine every day after his work shift & amiably says “gotta have a pepsi!” while grinning & passing it back & forth between his hands but one day the pepsi is sold out & he leaves the building robotically with a completely flat expression & isn’t seen at work again
