If there had been anybody whom Steve would cut the wire for, lay down his life for, it was Bucky. He always had a protective sense around him, the same way the other had for Steve. Now that Steve had the body to protect Bucky properly, he was going to make sure of it. If they had a sense of danger, they had an even bigger sense of protecting each other. Steve really wouldn't have it any other way. Steve smiled, trying to brace himself against the pain, trying to stand and act as though it wasn't a big deal, even though the pain shooting through him was almost unbearable. "Because I'm with you till the end of the line. I'll always take the bullet for you."

Steve had been dozing lightly, thankful to be in a nice warm bed for the first time in a long time. It wasn't that he slept on the streets, some nights he just couldn't get warm, and other nights he was far too hot to be comfortable. He felt something move, and opened his eyes to see Bucky climbing into bed with him. "You okay?"

Yes! I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the angst and the sad fics of recovery!bucky or immediate post-ws. I really enjoy seeing the different ways people come up with for him getting better and how he'd be out there surviving on his own for a while. But it's nice to see the happy and fluffy recovered!bucky as well.

Right? I mean, it's not like people are just ignoring the end of the movie (though I suppose some are). They're just skipping ahead a bit to the happier times. I can't see anything wrong with that at all
