It’s starting to cool off, football season is in full swing, the leaves are finally starting to change color, and, most importantly, bitter, brown, and boozy drinks are coming back into vogue. It’s hard to beat a quality whiskey drink paired with some cold weather and a warm fire. I’m sure after a few more months of reading my semi-coherent cocktail ramblings, all you Weekly Sippers will love stirred and boozy drinks as much as I do if you don’t already. However, while this week’s drink is definitely boozy, it’s not brown and bitter. Rather, I’d say this drink is boozy and refreshing. 🍹☠️🍹☠️🍹 They don’t know it yet, but I concocted this drink for the guys over at the “Drop Disgusta” podcast. I’ll be a guest again for their Halloween special set to record later today (Tuesday) and will post on Halloween. Before my first appearance on the show, I asked David and Chris some questions to try to figure out what kind of drink to make each of them. I asked if they preferred “bold and boozy” or “light and refreshing,” to which Chris responded “boozy and refreshing”… a bit of a conundrum, but I think I did a pretty good job with my “Two Strong Legs” drink. I wanted to give it another try this time around and see if I could top it. 🍹☠️🍹☠️🍹 1 ½ oz apple brandy (See Other Musings below) 1 oz anejo tequila ½ oz white overproof Jamaican rum ½ oz amontillado sherry ½ oz lime juice ¼ oz grapefruit juice ¼ oz allspice syrup ¼ oz honey syrup ¼ oz orgeat 6 drops vanilla extract Add everything to a mixing tin with about 12 oz of pebble ice. Flash blend for 5 seconds. Open pour into a collins glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and some cherries. .
