The most important thing I want people to understand is that climate change is real and that denying it doesn’t stop it. I’m proud to be a featured character in @AmplifierArt’s #MyClimateHero for my work with @sea_legacy. #MyClimateHero is a new comic art series that tells the story of modern climate leaders building unprecedented cooperation, driving action, and creating space for those most impacted to share their knowledge and perspectives. When seeing this artwork, I hope people realize that working to reverse climate change isn’t reserved for filmmakers, photographers, storytellers, scientists or activists. The Amplifier Foundation, in collaboration with @earthguardians is holding an open call for youth art (25 and under) to celebrate heroes working to address climate change. One youth artist will be selected to receive a $1,000 education scholarship and have their art printed and distributed at the People’s Climate March. 50 youth submissions will receive a gift pack valued up to $300 and will be selected for a group art exhibition* at the Amplifier Foundation Gallery in the fall of 2017, AND artwork will be made available as high resolution downloads on the Amplifier Foundation website.
