so I would like us all to take a moment and thank and honor Greta Thunberg in the most lowkey way possible.

As I was watching some videos of her speeches on the stage in different cities, I realized, wow she must be so tired. She LOOKS so tired. She’s happy, but she seems exhausted. Imagine: being 16 and having to be this figure for everybody else. She’s just a kid who wants climate justice and we’re putting her on a podium and asking her to guide us. Why do we need a 16yo to tell our world leaders whatever they’re doing wrong. We could tell them too. Just because she’s the one who started it all doesn’t mean that we have to rely on her for everything.

I’m sure as a teenager, she dreamed of visiting other cities and places. However I doubt her plan to do that was while going to other cities to give speeches and meet worldleaders with an impending climate crisis over her head. She just wants to enjoy being a teenager like everyone else and exploring the world for fun.

As someone who has travelled just for my own interests, I know how exhausting it can get. So imagine doing that with at 16yo for business-like purposes.

So thank you Greta for everything.

It was so fun though! The crowd was huge and incredibly nice, there were countless memes and countless puns and even more just straight up "fuck off" signs and I'm so proud of this generation

I haven't seen any posts about the march today but I just wanted to mention it because the one in Dublin was an amazing experience, and I'm so happy I got to be a part of something of this scale and importance

Il movimento Extinction Rebellion ha dichiarato l'inizio della ribellione il 15 aprile. Circa 10000 persone si sono mobilitate bloccando le arterie principali della città, in particolare il Waterloo bridge, occupandole con barricate, palchi, piante, tende e cucine. Parallelamente si sono svolte altre azioni, come quella all'azienda estrattivista Shell. I blocchi stanno riuscendo nell'intento, l'efficacia si percepisce dal denso traffico urbano presente in varie zone della città. Nella notte un centinaio di attivisti sono stati arrestati, ma la protesta non si ferma: i ribelli promettono che continueranno a oltranza e metteranno in campo azioni ancora più drastiche, come il blocco della metropolitana, nel caso le loro richieste non fossero ascoltate. Si rivolgono direttamente al governo inglese, al quale chiedono azioni incisive e immediate in merito al cambiamento climatico. Quello che possiamo notare è la crescita a livello globale di movimenti che lottano per la giustizia climatica e l'utilizzo della disobbedienza civile pacifica mediante azioni dirette come i blocchi stradali e delle aziende.
