hiii i like stats, so i tallied the various ways clones distinguish their appearances <3

for reference, i considered this model to be a "standard" clone:

this haircut and color, eye color, and bare face are what im referring to when i say nonstandard

not on purpose (probably)

different eye color: 1

scars: 5

hair

nonstandard cut: 6

shaved/buzzed/bald: 11

different color (other than blond): 3 (all red, gree's model)

blond: 3

graying: 2

stubble: 6

facial hair: 10

(i didn't count equipment, only decorative elements)

painted symbol (not abstract; not rep. sigil on flight helmets): 15

finally, i kept a rough tally of clones with completely standard appearances. take it with a grain of salt - i definitely missed some, or omitted some on purpose. i think in TCW, and especially in season 1, it was a practical measure to reuse the standard clone model

bonus! because im an insane person, i listed each named clone with their appearance differences under the cut!

for each clone i'll only list what's different about them. assume anything not specified is standard. clone officers (sergeants, lieutenants, captains, and commanders) are in bold

under obi-wan, anakin, and ahsoka:

cody: facial scar

rex: buzzed blond hair; pauldon, kama, eye symbol on helmet

matchstick: bald, stubble

broadside: greying hair

hawk: only seen in armor, hawks painted on helmet

slick: nonstandard cut

gus: ugly chin beard thats like a fu manchu but only the bottom, shaved head

chopper: shaved head, heavy facial scarring

jester: chin strap, weirdly staggered sideburns, lip scar

punch: chin beard (this ones ok)

sketch: eyebrow tattoo

waxer: shaved head, chin strap beard; tally marks on helmet

boil: ugly stash (sorry); symbol on helmet

axe: only seen in armor, flower symbol on helmet

slammer: only seen in armor, flower symbol on helmet

kickback: only seen in armor, flower symbol on helmet

swoop: only seen in armor, flower symbol on helmet

tucker: only seen in armor, flower symbol on helmet

under other jedi masters:

rys: back of neck tattoo (not sure of what?)

jek: bald, stubble

thire: pauldron

wolffe: standard (hes not scarred yet) (he also isn't shown in armor yet, just his bridge grays)

boost: facial scar, red hair in a FUGLY cut (i think he uses the same model as gree?); wolf on his armor

sinker: blond hair in a different cut, lighter eye color i think?; wolf on his armor

gree: ugliest hair ive ever fucking seen, and its red

bly: shaved head, yellow face tattoos; pauldron, kama

fil: pauldron, kama (bucket stayed on)

ponds: shaved head, stubble, tiny chin beard; kama

call me palpatine bc my dark evil scheme is that like half of the questions in that ask game were directly referencing or inspired by me own clone ocs #myclones

questions directly inspired by #myclones

age: their squad is kinda cliquey bc half are older and half are younger

planet: the older 3 all served on geonosis 1 and spent months in the medstation afterwards so theyve really only seen geonosis. the youngest 1 is fresh off kamino

preen: their assignment is kinda wack, so they all have WAYYY too much free time to spend looking nice. one of them has a gradient painted on his helmet and he spends sooo much time blending the paint

cut: the youngest one doesnt have any scars yet, which is why i had the addendum "if they dont have scars, why/how?"

cig: my beautiful captain smokes a pack a day <3 and has a gambling habit <3 hes addicted to every substance <3

scare: without getting too into the lore of the Evil Planet theyre stationed on, its like a lovecraft situation and one effect is that they all get vivid and upsetting nightmares. also i love horror so this question is a little The Magnus Archives inspired

tune: original concept for the entire squad was "what if a vod could sing" and its bloomed from there. bc of the particularities of their assignment on Evil Planet, they have an old space-record player and listen to music constantly

circus: one of the cliques is the Sillies, which is mostly the younger clones but also the older medic who's Sergeant Fucking Silly.

jackpot: is the name of the captain. my beautiful CT-77-7777. its kind of his brand <3

wish: i looove this angst for every clone, but jackpot in particular inspired "are they hopeful that they'll get an "after"?" bc hes not. he smokes so much bc "it wont be the cigs that kill me". my fucking beauitful boy.
