Unaware of the Moon.

She lays in bed with me, asleep and completely unaware of the moon. The way the moon positions itself to reflect her shimmering skin. The way the moon gently sneaks through the curtains so she isn't afraid of the darkness coming from the hallway. The way the moon protects her as she feels the heavens wrap her in a blanket of constellations. The way the moon lies awake with me all night to be my light source as we both admire the beauty that is asleep and drifting into the sunlight. -D.G. (May 31, 2017)
