Its very cleverly produced, gets Austens moral values across to a modern audience and gives her a new fanbase upon which more young people can learn to love classic literature. Really, open your mind a little bit :)

that is exactly it! thats the thing about the book, its mocking the society at that time, and modern society has changed since austens time

exactly. take away the society of the time and you're just left with a romance, which is what austen was trying to get away from
