Nothing Lilaac wanted to watch, anyway. Her tufted tail flicked irritably over her lap as her partner-in-couch clicked his way to channel 20,000 – another Protostar home shopping network (now with the Grund Girdle!) – and began the process anew.

Again.

She rolled her eyes, whirring mechanical legs and fingers ticking with her growing boredom. Her gaze flickered from the pair of Oghra pundits currently debating onscreen the ethics of equipping private skiffs with the latest in star-annihilating laser technology to the blonde Aurin beside her. Myess didn’t seem to be any happier than she was; his tail lashed in thinly-veiled annoyance as he clicked away at the remote. What he needed was a pick-me-up. A distraction!

Lilaac chuckled as she curled forward. What better mood-lifter was there than her fleeting and fickle attention? He’d be overjoyed, of course. A soft hiss of escaping air and a curious click were muffled by her curtain of hair, and with a pleased grin, she settled comfortably back against the cushions.

A dim thrum and a soft whirr were the only warnings as an elegantly-crafted, disembodied, prosthetic forearm inchwormed its way across the back of the Granok-length couch, creeping closer and closer to Myess’ unguarded shoulder.

What a good prank. She really was the best at this.
