my cat was in and out of the vet all week for peeing blood and i'm out 500 dollars + whatever it will cost to make sure she gets the meds and special food she needs. the good news is she is okay and doesn't seem to be sick beside having peepee problems, so they think it's just FIC. lost my job before it even started because the campus decided to cut the positions after we were hired by the agency. this was a couple days before all that stuff with my cat happened. ended up talking with an old friend who got me an interview for a product technician position, of which i was assigned a trial project for over the weekend, but i'm not confident i'll get it because the ceo expressed concerns about me not attending a design college. idk what to do. it's been a year since i've lost my job and it's becoming increasingly apparent i'm not very well suited for anything without years of experience, except the fields i want to break into i can't seem to get any experience because no one will take a shot on me. i just want to get out of retail/customer service. i have a 4 year college education but i guess i chose the wrong major i dunno. i'm on my last 400 dollars of savings until i officially have nothing but i have student loan repayments on top of that. if i didn't live at home i'd be homeless right now. i know i shouldn't be sitting here and feeling sorry for myself because i should just get into the hustle and try to start doing freelance art and stuff until i find something but boy! is it hard!! this is not how i pictured 24

the heat wave has made drawing so so so uncomfortable but has also revived red dead summer. i spent all day today playing rdr1 again while i think about orientation on tuesday..is being a cowboy better than being a housekeeper? we’ll find out

Small WIP because I've been a bit unwell again and also doing some work and Etsy stuff, but here you go :3

Not a huge video, but I wanted to try and post a bit more frequently, I've been a bit sick lately and also working on client stuff so this is a very small video, but I'll continue to record things as I work and post it here :) Fun facts about how I work in case anyone's interested : I use Toon Boom Harmony to animate, and Clip Studio Paint for backgrounds (I'll upload background speedpaints in the future). Tablet is a Wacom Intuos Pro Large. Flipping my canvas a lot during the sketch/inking has helped to keep my things on model a LOT. In Toon Boom, the pen brush will tend to appear thinner in preview mode than in render mode, so at the beginning I always click the render view to make sure my lines don't render too thick. I like to only sketch my very important key frames, and then I do all my in betweens as final inks directly, which saves me a TON of time. Having all the shade lines as part of the inks also helps keeping the shadow movements consistent. In Toon Boom Harmony, you can click "apply to all frames", so when you color one area, it'll color all the following frames. This only works on scenes like this where everything is close together tho. But that also saves a ton of time. When I make the background later, I'll adjust all the colors directly in my color palette and it'll change in the animation automatically. I also export palettes for every scenes, so when I animate another shot from this scene later, I'll just re import the palette file :)

probably the same as everyone else..struggling to find employment, feeling foolish and embarrassed while doing so, and having little time for other stuff. other than that, i've been reading & gardening. i feel a sort of shame everytime i create anything, like it's no good, so i haven't been drawing or writing lately, sadly. this was the first thing i've drawn in months!! i have to get back to it..

i thought i bombed the phone interview, but i was invited to do a in person interview at a start up company in town. if i’m honest, i’m a bit scared because it’s 4 roles in one (reception, admin, barista, and personal assistant) but i don’t think i have any other choice at this point..at least i’m seeing a movie and going to the library tomorrow. save me library save me
