It was the night of the dance and Elijah had been standing on one side for the most part of the celebration. He knew he had promised the Queen one dance but she was still a little preoccupied. While he watched the whole celebration, his eyes would always glance to her and smile whenever he'd see her move as elegantly as she could, an effortless job for her.
Now, Elijah was aware that he was a man whom some women would take second glances to. And he was a very polite man. When a relative of the Queen had approached him for a dance, he couldn't say no. The young woman had tried to drop hints to him but he couldn't return them. When their dance was over, he sighed in relief and was about to go back to his post when the Queen had finally asked him for that one dance he promised her.
Elijah's eyes never left hers as they danced and he couldn't help but feel as if he was in the right place. He smiled at her and was about to lean in to kiss her cheek but four words had escaped her mouth that he knew precisely why she had said those words. A light chuckle emitted from him as he nodded.
"Always, my Queen."
