Range: extensive for this genus- from Nicaragua in Central America down to northern Bolivia and western Brazil.

Habitat: heavily associated with water; typically found along rivers and streams in the foothills and lowland forest swamps. Found up to 1500m, but typically below 1000m.

IUCN Rating: Least Concern

Range: quite extensive, if fragmented; in the north, found in Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana, as well as Brazil; in the south found in Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay.

Habitat: heavily associated with water, as the name implies. Rivers, streams, and swampy areas of lowland forests and their edges. Can be found from sea level to 1100m in Venezuela, or to 1400m in Bolivia.
