Okay. This is my current situation. I watched him first in Itsuka Kono Koi blablabla. Kengo Kora took almost all my attention back few months ago. Nissy was in supporting role there. Interesting, nice, but had a poor fate (in that drama.)

Until few days ago, accidentally I watched a music video on Youtube, Kasumi Arimura is always eyecandy. And then… huh?! This guy is singing too?! Soon after that I realised he’s from AAA. (I used to visit Shinjiro Atae’s char on LINE play, but never realized what’s AAA.)

Okay. His first full album, Hocus Pocus, is quite complete. After the first decade as a lead vocal in a group, I think it’s enough for his prep before going solo. First, I like the music styles there, a lot of R&B, dance, and ballads. I caught glimpses of 80s and 90s sounds there, but it also very nowadays and also sooo Japan. *it’s in the language itself that made it very distinctive as j-pop, imho*

Now the personal unimportant comment. I have to say this. He’s not that handsome or in my ideal type of cool/handsome guy. His height is in average and yes, slightly too thin. But watching he dances in his MV, really moving me. I am surprised how such a thin body so energetic. His small moves or gestures like splashing his energy around. I remember how I watch the students do dance exercises almost every evening during this semester, they’re good but.. not so fascinating as Nissy’s. At this point, I always think I need small vacation each time I stucked on someone like this :D

Hm. He has a very nice smile indeed. Babyface, maybe. Well, I’m glad found out that he’s 30, so I don’t feel like I’m that crazy *if you know what I mean*

Must admit, Lee Hi attracted me much more than Meghan Trainor did. (While I still fail to find K-drama to be enjoyable). 

Why Trainor? Because the first impression I got after listening to her song, it looked like Korean version of Meghan Trainor. Despite the mix up concepts of South Korea’s entertainment business, -where Lee Hi sometimes brought impressions of Meghan Trainor or even Ray Charles-, I found her songs are good. I hope she’ll continue singing and the industry behind will help to bring out the best in her, that she’ll establish her own singing character.

Some singers and songs stick to the old tunes. Thus, the songs produced are very nice to ears. While nowadays musicians and singers busy producing noisy music, where I almost hear nothing. 

But again, this is every subjective. Music is just about taste. Yes, there are standards. But nowadays, what can we expect from standards that have been deconstructed and reconstructed times and times? 

Long time no see, dear tumblr. Apparently I miss this ‘place’ already.

She always reminds me on how such a small lady can do. I have to recall my memories so hard, which one I found first, her or FM. But I remember I already read her name a lot since one of my friend is her fan. Never interested about Mizuki, until one day I saw her live on Youtube.

Started my day with a short writing with SEO-related, then I found this band in the end of the day. You should check their superb views numbers. Oh I like how they infused traditional values in their MVs, like infusing this idea of Noh theatre here. Also, although  a lot of Japanese vocalists remind me about Takao Tajima’s peculiar vocal, Enon Kawatani’s vocal is nice to listen to. Their music arrangements and instrumentations are neat. 

Somehow I miss Indonesia’s groups with similar styles like Clorophyl, or maybe older, like Halmahera or Singiku. Damn, I feel old :D

After a while, I think it is the time to back in my habit like in those deadline days. Rants about Masha. I wonder what is in his management's mind about his latest release. It looks like if this man is going to retire or not making music anymore. To be honest, IMHO, it is more suitable to release as a memorial album (which is when the artist is already passed away.) Actually, I look forward for his new songs/creations. I have been thinking these days, "How are you, Masha? Are you making something new?" Despite of the album characteristics on live recordings, original analog covers etc., it is quite disappointing to read the song list. I hope there are some new unreleased tracks, for example. But.. well.. Come on, Fukuyama-san. You're still 46! PS. I'm quite stressed with this syllabus plan for the new subject I have to handle, yet it makes me rescheduled my plan to watch Okashi no Ie (starring Joe Odagiri, Machiko Ono, and the legendary Kaoru Yachigusa). Oh well.

Watching Tokiwa Takako (43) as Tsumura Aiko, Mare’s mother and Takumi & Ayumi’s grandmother (both are Mare’s children in the story) in Mare, I could not not thinking about Fukuyama Masaharu (46). These actors played together in Meguri Ai (1998) as a couple.

The fact that Tokiwa Takako already got a role as a grandmother (and she acted very well), it’s a new perspective to think about, how old these Meguri Ai’s actors now. For Fukuyama Masaharu as a musician and a performer (I choose these terms instead of singer/songwriter), I hope he will make better decisions in the future. I remember how he held a concert for teens in Zepp Tokyo on August, and IMHO, I wonder if there’s a better plan/marketing strategy for him.

Older, wiser, better qualities. First, his musicianship. Honestly, it’s not about changing appearance or getting married.
