ok so I finally got around to watching the newer episodes and Peridot's line in 'Back To The Kindergarten' ruined me "My sector of countryside was perfect. Now it's somewhere in space." And I'm cryin. Shads. I don't think I can go on. I miss lapis.

Aww, that would be so cute!! Imagine Laura and Carmilla being woken up early on Christmas morning by their kids excitedly running into their bedroom, yelling about how Santa came last night. They hop up onto the bed and quite literally drag their moms out from under the covers because they can’t wait to open their presents. Then Laura goes to make pancakes for breakfast while Carmilla plays with the kids and their new toys. Grandpa Hollis comes over with more presents (he loves spoiling his grandkids) and they spend the rest of the day celebrating and having fun

Almost Adults Rewrite 2017

Yup, your eyes aren’t broken. You read that correctly. I’ve decided that my next big story to tackle after Sky Full of Stars is finished ((single tear)) would be to completely rehash, rewrite, and fix Almost Adults. I say the term “fix” very loosely, because yes, while Adriana and Sarah have their reasons for making the film, it is still a good LGBT+ film for the community. They tried. But, after talking with a lot of the fans, it seems the general complaint or wish they all had for the film was that Mackenzie and Cassie ended up together. 

So I thought about it for a while and wondered what the whole movie would have been like if Cassie, along with Mackenzie, was also struggling to identify herself. Also, some of the fans I talked to expressed their concerns about the jokes in the movie regarding the community actually being offensive/not funny. Another was that Mackenzie and Cassie were absolutely horrible friends to one another. Who does that? Completely yell at their best friend because she/they wasn’t ready to come out? I’m sure many of us could relate to being in a position where, regardless if they’ve known the person for years, the thought of rejection from their favorite human being is a hard pill to swallow (take Kory and Colleen Ballinger for example, if you’ve seen that video). So, in the story, I’ll be dumping that fight scene entirely, because Mackenzie will come out to Cassie first before telling her parents in a safe environment. 

Also, I will be keeping some scenes from the movie to make the story coincide with the film, while others I’ll take out completely. (like that sex scene between Mathew and Cassie. Ew. Not happening.) 

Guarantee: By the end of the story, Mackenzie and Cassie will end up with each other and fall in love. 

Here’s where you creampuffs come in. I really want this to be a community effort, so that way it can feel like we all pitched in to create something wonderful. If any of you have requests, concerns, or inklings about what you want to see in the story, feel free to send me a message! I’d love to hear what you’d like to add in! Also, artists, if you want to create fan art of the story/this new alternate universe, send me a message too.   

This story is still in brainstorming mode, so forgive me if this all seems like one whole babble. Or if it takes a while to take form. But I just wanted to type this out and get this to ya’ll before I go crazy. As of write now, I’m struggling with the title for the new story and summary.

And thus, every good story needs a summary, right? Here it is: 

    Growing up is hard. Coming out is harder. Falling in love with your best friend sucks. Until it doesn’t. 

  In Mackenzie’s life, she was always certain of these three things: one, she loves food. Two, she’s a lesbian. Three, she’s in love with her best friend. After coming out to her parents goes horribly wrong and not what she expected to hear, Mackenzie and Cassie’s relationship takes a surprisingly strange turn that neither girl was prepared for. Meanwhile, Cassie is struggling with her own sexual identity after her horrible break up with Mathew, and her own parents unable to grasp what went wrong. In this new, strange life they share together, they both come to realize that no matter what you identify as, learning to be an adult sucks. 

What do you creampuffs think? All in favor for an Almost Adults rewrite say “aye”!!

💚, for the ask! (when Carm was a human she def got sick more, but I think now whenever Laura has a little cold Carm does whatever she's obnoxious as possible and bundles Laura up in a large blanket and gives her a large bowl of soup and holds her until Laura falls asleep).

who tends to get sick more often? who is better at taking care of the other?

You really said it all in this case. I agree with the headcanon that Carm’s immune system would have sucked when she was human, with all the mutating viruses have done since her day (if my science is totally off there, corrections are strongly encouraged!), but now that she’s a vampire again of course she doesn’t get sick anymore.

That being said, I suspect that Laura has taking care of people DOWN. Like, color-coded binders with emergency plans down. I think she springs into action when Carmilla starts to get too deep in her brooding, and Carmilla does her best when Laura gets sick. Often her best looks like piling Objects Of Human Comfort(TM) around Laura and watching her anxiously until she wakes/feels better.

(Laura falls asleep on the couch with a cold one day and wakes up covered in three blankets, with a bowl of soup on the table along with cough drops, at least six boxes of Kleenex, and Pusheen toy in a Sherlock Holmes hat. And a note in the precise copperplate she’s come to know as well as her own handwriting: I’ll be here when you wake up, Liebling.)

mmmmmmm no more than five or six? two different grannies, two different harry potter posts, and probably something else but idk lol im just flattered people like my bad doodles enough to want to keep them on the post

I'm actually sobbing at the art you drew, it is beautiful??? Aaah the latest video Thomas put up has me IN TEARS. I related so much to Elliot and I liked that Thomas's character addressed Lapis and Jasper's relationship as unhealthy for Elliot to relate to his analysis, it really hit home for me. also that there were examples of good relationships in the episode and unhealthy ones, and ones that were good but needed fixing. Thomas never ceases to amaze me. hope you're having a good day today!!

ooh idk what this is for, but can i join? would you rather have Laura drink from the Fountain of Youth and have them be immortal vampire moms forever, or have them grow old together and be that elderly couple who plays bingo every night and gives out the best candy on Halloween? :P

Okay so I had to think about this but I think I would go for the latter because as much as I love immortal girlfriends living forever I don’t think that’s what either of them want. 

You heard their 5 year plan, their future. Their future was/is about them getting to grow old together, having a family and getting to have that new chapter of their lives. Carmilla loved being a human and I love that she got to have that personal growth in the movie but she didn’t exactly have a choice to become a vampire again, it was taken away from her and it was either that or all of their friends and other people/ghosts suffer. So for me I would choose to let them have their life, let them grow old together so they can have their children and their grandchildren. They give out the best candy and Carmilla tells the best not-real-but-totally-real ghost stories and they are the elderly couple that bickers like crazy but they are still so in love.
