whats up with the finebros? did they do something?
Basically, they recently released a video addressing something they were starting called “ReactWorld,” which was a way of “bringing the community closer together.” The basic message what that if people are to use the format they “made” for reaction videos, they have to put it through the finebros to become a part of their famiily, and the original creator gets “a share” of the revenue generated from the video. What this is actually doing is placing a copyright on reaction videos as a whole, which prevents anyone from creating a reaction video if it isn’t licensed through the finebros. This means that a massive part of internet culture, which has been around for much longer than the finebros have been, is being monetised by a company that already makes heaps of money through their regular uploads. It’s a smart business practice, but it’s a total arsehole move for anyone who wants to do a regular, everyday reaction video.
