When Caitlyn’s annual birthday tradition for Vi goes awry, she has to improvise.
Read on AO3
Twenty-Seven Years Old
Sometimes Caitlyn loves completely embracing her ostentatious side. Especially when it comes to her wife.
Vi had left for her shift at the hospital earlier than usual. Caitlyn can never begrudge her for going in when she’s needed, especially not so close to the Solstice. She knows this time of year is hard for a lot of people, and that, coupled with the usual amount of sicknesses that people have during winter means that Vi is usually run off her feet at work.
Not this year, though. This year, Caitlyn had a very stern conversation with her father about letting Vi have some time off — especially since they had just hired more staff. Their compromise, along with Vi’s agreement, was that Vi was to work part of her birthday, and Caitlyn was going to whisk her away the moment her shift ended.
Seeing as it is so close to the Solstice, Caitlyn knows that it’s highly likely Vi will end up working that bit later, but she’s planned for that. One of the Kiramman jets is ready to go whenever they are, and Caitlyn is looking forward to taking Vi away for a few days. To experience some of Ionian culture over the Solstice. It’s been a dream of theirs for years now — to go together. Especially since they haven’t had time away since their anniversary the year before. They had wanted to go a few years prior, but the timing never worked out. But now, it finally has.
Even though Caitlyn’s boss, Richard Olsen, wasn’t happy about her having so much time off, he couldn’t do anything about it, especially not when the office was shutting down for three weeks.
First of all, she has to make her traditional appearance at the hospital for Vi’s birthday. She began this when Vi first started at the hospital. She had told her father that she was going to bring in some cake for Vi for her birthday. She knows that Vi’s history with birthdays hasn’t always been nice, but since they got together, Caitlyn has made it her mission to make sure that Vi has the best day possible. She’s had several years to make it the best day for Vi, and she’s not going to quit now.
“Are you sure you’re alright with all of that?” Caitlyn asks, turning to look over her shoulder at Adam, the young boy who insisted on helping her with all of the items she’d ordered from the bakery. Other times, Caitlyn has just done this herself — if she’s strong enough to carry Vi, she is more than strong enough to carry several boxes of baked goods.
“I’m sure, Mrs Kiramman,” Adam replies. He doesn’t look like he’s struggling so Caitlyn believes him.
They reach the staff entrance to the hospital and Caitlyn makes quick work of swiping her access card — a massive perk of being a Kiramman — and the doors hiss open for them.
“Set them down over there,” Caitlyn instructs, pointing to the counter space she had cleared earlier before going to collect the baked goods.
“Thank you, Adam,” she says once he’s put everything down. She passes him some money. “For your troubles.”
He beams at her and exits with a wave of his hand. No wonder he was eager to help, she thinks. Everyone at that bakery knows that Caitlyn tips well and Piltover isn’t even a place that requires tipping since staff are always paid fairly. She just likes to give a little extra whenever she can.
Caitlyn sorts the boxes out, looking at the labels on each lid. She quickly puts the ones with dietary requirements aside and the ones without any special requirements get put onto the large table in the middle of the room. And most importantly, Vi’s one is in a box of its own, waiting for Caitlyn to give it to her. She opens the box, seeing the beautiful design on the obnoxiously large cupcake. She can’t help but smile at it. It has Vi’s name in the centre in pink icing, and the outside border is all delicate violets. She does this every year, and it always makes her so happy whenever Vi acts like it is the best gift she has ever received.
After she takes a quick photo with her phone, Caitlyn glances at her watch. She figures now is the perfect time to let Vi, and the other staff, know that she has brought their morning tea in. She only wishes she could light a candle for Vi to blow out, but it’s pointless in a hospital.
Caitlyn closes the door to the staff room behind her and makes her way to the nurse’s station just down the hall. She slows when she hears the name Kiramman. She doesn’t usually listen to gossip, but this one sounds nice.
“…Doctor Kiramman’s birthday.”
“I thought his birthday was back in June?” a second voice asks.
“The other Doctor Kiramman — Vi,” comes the reply from the first person. The voice is familiar, and Caitlyn thinks that it belongs to Abigail Hoffman, but she can’t be certain — it has been a while since she’s visited the hospital, and the staff do all change shifts a lot.
“What’s so great about that?” person two asks.
“You’re new here, so you don’t know the tradition,” the first voice says. “But every single year, Doctor Kiramman’s wife brings so many cupcakes in. I got to take home six last year. And they’re massive, too. Not just small things. They’re like mini cakes, that’s how big they are.”
“Whoa.”
“That’s why we all had to fill out those dietary requirements forms,” voice one explains. “She goes all out every year. Makes a big deal about it, too. And of course Doctor Kiramman — Tobias — lets her because it’s his daughter. She’s super formal, too, so she’ll call you Nurse Shanna, rather than just your name. And you’re only to refer to her as Mrs Kiramman, as well. Doctor Kiramman — Vi — gets upset if she’s not treated with respect.”
Caitlyn chooses that moment to make her presence known. Sometimes it is best not to know what others think of the Kirammans. She’s glad that her reputation, in this case, at least, precedes her. Especially as she sees Abigail Hoffman’s face light up.
“Nurse Abigail,” Caitlyn greets with a nod. “Good morning.”
“Good morning, Mrs Kiramman,” Abigail replies. “This is Shanna — she’s new here.”
“Good morning, Nurse Shanna,” Caitlyn says with a kind smile in her direction. “I was wondering if you knew my wife’s location? I have a surprise for her in the staff room.”
“I’ll call for her right now,” Abigail says. She picks up one of the desk phones and the next moment, Caitlyn hears ‘paging Doctor Vi Kiramman to the nurse’s station’ over the loudspeaker.
“Thank you,” Caitlyn says. “How are you liking Piltover General, Nurse Shanna?”
Shanna’s face brightens. “It’s been great! I just finished my degree and was told this was the best department to work in. So Doctor Kiramman is your wife? She’s incredible.”
Pride blooms in Caitlyn’s chest at that. She absolutely loves when Vi’s worth is recognised — even by relative strangers.
“We had a code blue the other day, and she just leapt into action,” Shanna continues. “There was no hesitation. Us nurses are usually the ones to do CPR, but she was the fastest.”
Caitlyn can’t help but smile. “That sounds like my wife.”
There’s the sound of a door closing down the hall, and Caitlyn leans back to see if she can see Vi approaching. Instead, she sees a tall, lanky white guy licking his fingers. Her eyes narrow suspiciously. Surely he didn’t just come from the staff room? The staff are all aware that she likes to give Vi her birthday cupcake first.
“Did you all know there is, like, a fuck-ton of cakes just all over the staff room?” said guy asks as he approaches the nurse’s station.
Caitlyn’s eyes narrow further. She focuses on his fingers where she can see a smear of purple icing.
“Tyler…” Abigail’s voice is hesitant.
“Which one did you eat?” Caitlyn cuts in.
Tyler looks at her like he’s just noticed her. “The big one, obviously. Who are you? Wait, did you bring the cupcakes? You’re amazing!”
He goes to hug her, or something and Caitlyn physically recoils. She takes a step back and then marches towards the staff room.
To her utter horror, the cupcake — the one specifically for Vi — is the one he has eaten. The one that had Vi’s name on the box as well as the cake itself.
She turns around and is met with a sheepish looking Tyler. Behind him stand Abigail and Shanna, who both look hesitant.
“Tyler, is it?” she asks. “I’m assuming you’re staff. And if that is the case, I am also assuming you can read. Did you not see that the name Vi was written not only on the box, but the cake, too, before you put your big paws all over it?”
Tyler’s face pales. “Uh…”
Caitlyn feels her anger rising. “I have half a mind to get you fired for this.”
“Fired? You can’t do that! Who even are you?”
“Cait!” Vi’s voice calls out. She’s jogging down the hallway and stops next to them. “Baby, hey. It’s just a cake, it’s all good.”
“It isn’t just a cake, Vi,” Caitlyn says, not taking her glare off Tyler. He’s growing paler by the minute, and she is glad to see him squirm. “This… imbecile ate your birthday cake. The one with your name on it. He’s clearly incompetent and should be fired.”
“Cait,” Vi says, and Caitlyn can see her hand hesitate before it comes to gently rest on her shoulder. “Let’s step into the staff room, okay? Tyler, Abby, Shanna, please get back to your duties.”
Caitlyn keeps her gaze on Tyler until the door is forcibly closed between them. The moment she loses sight of him, she deflates.
“Vi, I’m so sorry,” Caitlyn says, turning to face the wreckage that is the box that had Vi’s birthday cupcake in it.
“Cait, there isn’t anything to be sorry for,” Vi says. She cups Caitlyn’s hands in her face, forcing Caitlyn to meet her gaze. “Thank you for all of this. Everyone is going to love this spread. They rave about it for weeks afterwards.”
With a sigh, Caitlyn steps back from Vi’s hold. “He just… He just came in and ate it. It had your name on it.”
“Accidents happen.”
“That wasn’t an accident,” Caitlyn protests.
“Fine, mistakes, then,” Vi counters. “Babe… What’s this all about?”
Caitlyn slumps into an empty chair. “I just wanted this day to be perfect for you.”
“I hate to break it to you, but I work in an emergency department,” Vi teases, reaching for a chair and turning it so she faces Caitlyn. She sits down and puts her hands on Caitlyn’s knees. “Today was going to be as weird and wild as any other day here.”
“I know,” Caitlyn replies. “I just wanted this part to be perfect. The part where I give you your birthday cupcake and we go fool around in a supply closet for five minutes.”
Vi grins at her. “Is that still on the table?”
“Doubtful,” Caitlyn replies. “I just wanted you to have your cake and be reminded of what we’re doing when we leave here today.”
“Trust me, Cupcake, I know what we’re doing,” Vi says, waggling her eyebrows. “In the meantime, I’m going to need you to not threaten to fire my staff. It’s the holiday season, we’re short staffed as it is with so many people off sick.”
Caitlyn sighs. “Fine,” she mutters. She sits up and leans over into Vi’s space. “Want to fool around a bit?”
Vi’s beaming grin is all the answer she gets before Vi is kissing her hotly. Caitlyn feels herself melt into Vi’s touch, relaxing in ways that only her wife can make her do.
The staff room door swings open and they break apart when whoever it is says “oops, sorry! I’ll come back later.”
The door closes again and Caitlyn leans her head against Vi’s shoulder, chuckling.
“Come on,” Vi says, gently tucking some of Caitlyn’s hair behind her ear. “We’d better let the staff have their cupcakes.”
“Not Tyler,” Caitlyn says, lifting her head. “He’s had enough.”
“Not Tyler,” Vi agrees. “Though I’m sure he’ll think twice before helping himself to free food from now on.”
“Good,” Caitlyn says with a sniff.
They stand and Caitlyn gently cups Vi’s face with one hand, smiling when Vi’s eyes automatically close.
“Happy birthday, my love,” she says. She brushes a soft kiss over Vi’s lips. “I’ll make sure you have your birthday cupcake for later.” She waggles her eyebrows at Vi, who grins at her.
“I’m looking forward to it.”
“I’ll be here to pick you up at two o’clock sharp,” Caitlyn says, straightening her jacket.
“I’ll be ready,” Vi promises.
Caitlyn kisses her softly again before exiting the staff room, and the hospital completely. She doesn’t usually lose her cool like that, especially over a cake, of all things, but it’s Vi’s birthday and she only ever wants Vi to have good birthday memories.
Things take a turn for the cold when a snowstorm rolls in at noon. It was completely unpredicted, and Caitlyn watches from the living room window as the fat, heavy flakes fall from the sky. She stares up at it, disheartened.
It is of no surprise to her when she gets a phone call not ten minutes later saying that there won’t be any flights in or out of Piltover until the storm has passed, and no one is exactly sure when that will be.
It takes all of Caitlyn’s strength and years of Kiramman training to not pout. It’s winter. They can’t exactly help the snow.
Half an hour later, Caitlyn’s phone rings again. This time, it’s Vi.
“There’s been a pile up on the highway,” she says, sounding harried. “I’m going to have to stay a bit longer. Will we still make our flight?”
Caitlyn lets out the smallest of sighs. “There aren’t any flights in or out until the snowstorm has passed.”
“Snowstorm?” Vi repeats. “That explains the accident then. I’ll be home as soon as I can, okay? I’ll get a taxi since I don’t know how long I’m going to be. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Vi says a hasty goodbye and the call disconnects. Caitlyn lets herself pout for a full five seconds before she gets up. She can’t just sit around doing nothing.
So she cleans. She vacuums, washes the kitchen floor, and while that’s drying, she heads to the playroom to make sure that everything in there is in order. She changes the sheets, because she can’t remember if they did last time, and puts fresh ones on the bed.
After all of that, she looks at the time on her phone and realises that Vi is still probably going to be a few hours off yet, if she’s lucky.
An idea comes to mind — she can bake a cupcake for Vi all by herself. They have plenty of cooking and baking books around, as Vi likes to experiment, and she knows that there’s a children’s baking book stashed in there somewhere for when she first started learning how to cook and bake things. She had been determined to cook Vi at least one meal before they got married, instead of always relying on the Kiramman chef, or take out, or Vi cooking. Since then, she’s grown very confident in her abilities to cook several meals.
The Kiramman chef comes over a few times a month to make sure they have plenty of meals prepared for when they’re both busy, which is nice. Cassandra insists on it, especially when Caitlyn admitted that sometimes neither she nor Vi have time to cook, or even eat, some days.
Most of the time, they’re pretty good at remembering — they had even written it into the contract because it got a little ridiculous at one stage where they’d both forgotten to eat and Vi almost passed out at work, and Caitlyn almost crashed her car getting to Vi because she’d been dizzy from lack of food, too.
After locating her favourite apron, Caitlyn gets started. Sure, it’s been a little while since she’s actually baked anything, but it’s her wife’s birthday, she’s going to try for her.
It takes a little longer than she anticipated it to, but by the time Vi is walking in the front door, looking as exhausted as Caitlyn expected her to be, the rather large cupcake has cooled and she’s just finishing up the last touches of icing.
“Hey, Cupcake,” Vi says.
“Hello, my love,” Caitlyn replies. She kisses Vi soundly on the lips. “Go shower, please.”
“Join me?” Vi asks hopefully. Caitlyn nods. She figures the dishes can wait for a little while.
Their shower is extremely practical. Vi is almost asleep on her feet as Caitlyn washes her hair for her. She peppers kisses along Vi’s skin whenever she has a moment, and relishes the small, happy sighs that come from Vi at each touch.
“I’m sorry that today didn’t go as planned,” Vi says as Caitlyn dries her hair for her with a towel. She picks up the hairdryer and gets it as dry as she possibly can. Vi’s hands go to Caitlyn’s hips, and she knows that Vi is using her to keep steady.
“You’ve got nothing to be sorry for, my love,” Caitlyn replies when she’s done with Vi’s hair. “Come, let’s get you into bed.”
It’s a testament to how tired Vi is that she doesn’t even protest. Caitlyn gets her into the bed, and smiles when Vi makes grabby hands at her. She slides into bed next to Vi, and leans over, kissing her slowly.
“Get some sleep, darling,” Caitlyn says, kissing the tip of Vi’s nose. “You deserve it.”
“But… Cupcake,” Vi protests. “You could sit on my face?”
Caitlyn snorts. “And have you suffocate? I think not.”
“Best way to die, though,” Vi mumbles.
“I’ve got a long life planned for us, Kiramman, you’re not dying on me tonight.”
“’Kay,” Vi says. She’s out like a light a second later. Caitlyn watches her sleep for a few long moments before getting out of bed. She figures she can clean up the kitchen as much as possible.
She puts Vi’s cupcake in the fridge, glad it turned out well. She knows Vi will appreciate it when she wakes.
Caitlyn, unfortunately, is wide awake, as it’s still relatively early. She doesn’t want to wake Vi by climbing back into bed with her — she deserves her rest, especially after the day she’s had.
After heating up one of the frozen dinners for herself, Caitlyn settles onto the couch with her eReader. She figures she can read until she’s tired enough to go to bed, and hopefully Vi will be asleep the entire time.
Much to her surprise, a couple of hours later, Vi wanders out of their room, rubbing at her eyes. She’s slung a robe around her shoulders, and has put on a pair of boxers, but the robe is wide open.
“The bed’s cold,” Vi mumbles. She climbs onto the couch, lying herself on top of Caitlyn. “Why aren’t you in bed with me?” She tucks her head right up underneath Caitlyn’s chin, and Caitlyn can’t help but smile at the action. It’s been a while since Vi has done this. Caitlyn secretly loves when Vi needs to be close like this.
“Because it’s only nine, darling,” Caitlyn replies. She sets her book down and scratches at Vi’s head. Vi makes a happy noise, a smile playing on her lips.
Vi hums and lifts her head enough to kiss Caitlyn’s chin. “Birthday sex?” she asks, her expression as hopeful as her tone.
Caitlyn smiles, and gently touches her finger to the tip of Vi’s nose. “You’re exhausted, my love. We can have birthday sex tomorrow.”
Vi’s pout shouldn’t be this adorable, Caitlyn thinks, but it is. “But it’s my birthday now. For a little while longer, at least.”
“How about we see after you have something to eat, okay?”
“Open up then,” Vi says, sitting up a little and tapping at Caitlyn’s thigh.
“Violet,” Caitlyn replies with a slight roll of her eyes. “Actual food, please.”
“You’re being awfully mean to me on my birthday,” Vi says, but she sits up properly all the same. Her robe flaps open and Caitlyn can’t help but sweep her gaze up her wife’s body, taking in her abdominal muscles, the swell of her breasts, and the fact that her nipples are hardening under Caitlyn’s gaze.
“It sure looks like you want to have sex before I eat actual food,” Vi teases. She leans into Caitlyn’s space and brushes her lips over Caitlyn’s in the ghost of a kiss.
“I can’t help that my wife is the most beautiful person in the entirety of the world,” Caitlyn remarks. She kisses Vi back, just to hear her gasp. “But she also hasn’t eaten all day, so I’ll put her health first.”
“Spoilsport,” Vi says.
It takes more effort than Caitlyn thinks it should, for them to get up off the couch and head to the kitchen. She pulls out one of Vi’s favourite meals from the freezer and heats it up for her. Vi, for her part, seems intent on just clinging to Caitlyn, and has latched herself onto Caitlyn’s back, her arms around Caitlyn’s middle. It’s good that the microwave is doing all of the work, so they can just stay like that. Caitlyn strokes over Vi’s arm with her fingers, feeling the warmth of Vi all along her back.
“Turn around,” Vi says, and Caitlyn automatically does. Vi presses herself in close to Caitlyn’s front, tucking her head under Caitlyn’s chin once more. Her breathing is even, and Caitlyn can tell that her eyes are closed, but she’s just standing there, holding Caitlyn.
“How bad was today?” Caitlyn asks softly, stroking her fingers through Vi’s hair. She understands why Vi is clinging to her like this. She does it after every horrible accident that she bears witness to.
“I don’t want to talk about it just yet,” Vi mutters against Caitlyn’s skin. “But Tobias has ordered I see the hospital therapist at least twice before coming back to work next year.”
Caitlyn hums her acknowledgement. “I’ll book your appointments tomorrow, my love.”
“You’re the best,” Vi says.
The microwave finishes its cycle, and they make their way as awkwardly as possible to it together.
“I need my hands, darling,” Caitlyn says apologetically. She feels Vi huff against her neck before she’s stepping out of Caitlyn’s arms completely.
Caitlyn sets Vi’s food out for her and they sit at the small kitchen table together while Vi eats and Caitlyn reads the crossword clues to her from that day’s newspaper.
After Vi has finished her dinner, Caitlyn kisses the top of her head and takes her empty plate to the sink. She opens the fridge and pulls out the cupcake she made Vi. She sets it on the counter and quickly grabs one of the birthday cake candles from the cupboard, lighting it and putting it into the centre of the cake.
She starts to sing as she brings the cake to the table, and Vi’s smile makes Caitlyn’s stomach swoop pleasantly. She sets the plate down and slides into her seat, finishing the song.
“I love you so much,” Vi says, and Caitlyn can see tears shining in her eyes. She leans over and blows the candle out, sending small tendrils of smoke into the air.
“Happy birthday, my love,” Caitlyn says, passing her a fork for her to have a bite. “May twenty-seven be the best year yet.”
Vi’s hand is warm as it reaches under the table, landing on Caitlyn’s thigh. “Let’s have a bite of this, and then maybe we can revisit that birthday sex idea?” Caitlyn can practically feel the heat radiating off Vi at the suggestion.
“Two bites,” Caitlyn counters. “Considering I made that myself from scratch.”
“It’s perfect,” Vi says, her gaze not leaving Caitlyn’s face. “Thank you for doing a replacement for me.” She hisses as she plucks the candle from the centre and it drips a small pool of wax onto her hand.
Caitlyn automatically reaches over and gently peels the wax from her skin, setting it aside to put in the bin later.
“Here — have the first bite.”
“The first bite goes to the birthday girl,” Caitlyn says, shaking her head. Vi brings the fork to her mouth and deliberately curls her lips around the tines, dragging it from between her lips so slowly.
“Maybe just one bite then?” Caitlyn says softly, and Vi’s eyes sparkle. Vi cuts back into the cupcake with a fork and brings it to Caitlyn’s lips. She takes the bite, her gaze unwavering from Vi’s own.
Vi sets the fork on the table, and Caitlyn knows she’s about to be kissed within an inch of her life, but she holds up her finger.
“Let me put this back in the fridge first, please,” she says. She makes quick work of putting the cupcake back into the fridge, and the second the door closes, Vi is kissing her.
Vi presses Caitlyn up against the fridge, her mouth hot against Caitlyn’s own. Caitlyn sighs into the kiss, practically melting into Vi’s touch. She wraps a leg around Vi’s middle and pulls her even closer.
“You’re wearing too many clothes,” Vi says, kissing down Caitlyn’s neck. “You should rectify that.”
Caitlyn hums and tangles her hand in Vi’s hair, bringing their lips back together. The kiss is heated, but not as rushed. They both know where this is going and have no desire to rush it. Vi pulls back just enough to tug at Caitlyn’s top until it’s bunched up under her armpits. She lifts her arms and Vi pulls the top off all the way, dropping it onto the floor.
Caitlyn gasps when Vi’s mouth closes over one of her nipples. She arches into Vi’s touch, feeling her nipple harden. Vi’s teeth gently drag over it as she moves back, and Caitlyn whimpers a little.
“Bedroom, now,” she says breathily.
“Yes, Boss,” Vi says and Caitlyn pauses.
“Bedroom or playroom?” she asks.
“Bedroom,” Vi replies. “But I want to have fun with it. We can use the playroom tomorrow.”
“Alright,” Caitlyn agrees. Vi takes her hand and squeezes it once, leading her back into their bedroom.
They both strip and Vi climbs up onto the bed, looking at Caitlyn with an intense, heated gaze.
“What do you want, my love?” Caitlyn asks, not joining her on the bed just yet. She strokes a hand up Vi’s calf, feeling goosebumps rise under the pads of her fingers. “It’s your birthday, the choice is yours.”
“Do you still have those candles in the playroom?” Vi asks, and Caitlyn nods. “Those, please.”
Caitlyn leans over and kisses Vi softly. “I’ll be right back, and no touching yourself.”
“Yes, Mistress,” Vi replies.
Caitlyn nips at her bottom lip and pulls back. She purposefully sways her hips in Vi’s direction before she disappears from the room.
She makes quick work of locating the small selection of bright red candles they had purchased just for this reason. She chooses one of the tapered ones, and a stand for it to sit in when they’re done. She also picks up a purple silk blindfold as well from the same cupboard, figuring they could truly have fun with things tonight. She quickly lights the candle before heading back to their bedroom.
Vi is still sprawled on the bed, one arm tucked up behind her head. Caitlyn knows Vi is doing this pose on purpose — it shows off her abdominal muscles, as well as her impressive arms. And with the way her legs are slightly spread, Caitlyn can see just how wet she is.
“Sing for me again?” Vi asks as Caitlyn gets closer.
“Of course,” she replies. “Put this blindfold on, my love.” She passes it over to Vi, who makes quick work of sliding the blindfold over her eyes and leaning back against the bed in the same position she was just in. Caitlyn sets the candle stand down on top of the bedside drawers for later use, and turns her gaze back to Vi. Vi makes grabby hands at her, and Caitlyn smiles. She starts singing the happy birthday song as she climbs back up on the bed. She leans over and kisses Vi as she finishes the song and gently drips wax onto Vi’s chest as she sits back up.
Vi hisses at the contact. Her nipples immediately harden, though, and it makes Caitlyn smile.
They had bought these candles specifically because they don’t burn as hotly as regular ones — they may love their kinky life, but she doesn’t want to rush Vi to the same hospital she works at because she’s accidentally burned her wife.
Caitlyn leans over and takes one of Vi’s nipples in her mouth. She gently swirls her tongue around it, eliciting a moan from Vi in the process. She pulls off and blows a puff of cold air right over it. Vi moans again. Caitlyn brings the candle closer and gently drips a spot of wax just to the side of Vi’s nipple. She hisses once more, but Caitlyn knows it isn’t truly from pain.
As she drips some more wax on Vi’s other breast, Caitlyn thinks about just how pretty it looks in stark contrast to Vi’s skin. She’s careful where she places the drips, making a mental note of where every single one is so she can pick off the dried wax later.
“You’re doing well, my love,” Caitlyn says softly as she drips some wax onto the inside of Vi’s arm. She’s careful not to let the wax drip onto the bed — it’s one of the reasons they do these kinds of activities in the playroom.
“Thank you,” Vi breathes as Caitlyn drips the wax onto her clavicle. Vi lets out a breathy sigh and Caitlyn is helpless but to lean over and kiss her. She wants to kiss Vi deeper, but she is also acutely aware of the candle still in her grasp.
She shifts down the bed, dripping a trail of red wax down Vi’s abdominal muscles, watching them flex under each drip. She makes a sloppy arrow with the wax and smirks at her own creativity.
“Spread your legs, darling,” Caitlyn instructs softly. Vi immediately does so.
Caitlyn leans over and kisses the inside of Vi’s knee. Then she drips wax right onto the same spot. Vi’s sharp intake of breath quickly turns into a moan as Caitlyn drips the wax higher, moving up her strong thighs.
The closer she gets to Vi’s crotch, the shallower her breathing becomes. Caitlyn takes care to drip wax on the most sensitive parts of Vi’s inner thighs.
“Cait,” Vi breathes.
“Patience, my love,” Caitlyn replies. She kisses the inside of Vi’s other knee, feeling the muscles jump under her touch. She carefully drips wax onto that space as well, her gaze flicking up to Vi, whose chest is heaving already.
Caitlyn lets a few drips creep up Vi’s thigh in quick succession, and then into the dip of her leg where thigh meets hip.
Vi’s moan is loud, and her legs twitch, like she wants to close them, but knows better.
“Good girl,” Caitlyn breathes. She leans over and presses a kiss to Vi’s stomach, next to a piece of wax that is already lifting on the sides.
“Please,” Vi whimpers. “Please touch me.”
“Not yet, darling,” Caitlyn replies. She drips some more wax on Vi’s stomach, watching the bead roll down her soft skin as Vi breathes. She goes a little lower, edging towards Vi’s pubic mound, but doesn’t drip wax there. She lets the heat of the candle come close to Vi’s skin, but doesn’t let the wax touch her. She doesn’t fancy picking wax out of hair — it’s a painful experience, and not in a pleasurable way.
“Cait,” Vi moans again. Her hand reaches down, and Caitlyn grasps it with her own. She kisses Vi’s knuckles before turning her hand over, dripping wax onto the inside of Vi’s wrist. The moan that tumbles from between Vi’s lips is worth it.
Vi lifts her hands and slides them into her hair, tugging at the strands. Caitlyn shifts, putting the candle in its holder. She knows Vi can’t see her, but she’ll know the second that the candle has been snuffed out, so she does it to tease her. The hint of the candle is enough to make Vi pant, and Caitlyn loves it.
She trails a finger down Vi’s chest, carefully dodging all of the wax dotted along her skin. She kisses Vi for a few long seconds and then shifts, settling between her legs.
Once Vi realises what’s going on, her hand comes down to Caitlyn’s head, her fingers sliding into Caitlyn’s hair. Caitlyn chuckles and presses a kiss to the inside of Vi’s thigh before turning her attention to Vi’s soaking wet pussy. She knows Vi won’t last long like this, and it takes all of her strength not to tease her wife, but she’s been so good tonight, and Caitlyn loves to give her what she wants.
The first swipe of her tongue has Vi moaning so loudly that it makes Caitlyn glad they don’t have any next-door neighbours that are close enough to hear them. She licks into Vi, relishing her taste. Her eyes reflexively close as she loses herself in eating Vi out. She hums as she slides her tongue inside of Vi, curling it upwards, feeling Vi clench down around her as best as she can. She shifts a little, moving to suck Vi’s clit into her mouth. Vi’s moans fill the room and her hips roll down, rocking into Caitlyn’s mouth.
Her orgasm is swift, and her thighs tremble on either side of Caitlyn’s head, her hand tight in Caitlyn’s hair. Her entire body shudders as she rides out her orgasm, and she slumps back against the bed moments later, trying to catch her breath.
Caitlyn moves up the bed. She leans over and kisses Vi, letting her taste herself on Caitlyn’s tongue. Caitlyn slips her hand down, sliding her fingers into Vi’s entrance with ease.
“Cait,” Vi moans, breaking the kiss. Her hips arch into Caitlyn’s touch, rocking into her hand. Caitlyn makes quick work of getting Vi to come again, pride surging in her chest as Vi clings to her, breathing heavily into Caitlyn’s neck as she does.
When Vi slumps back again, Caitlyn smirks and brings her fingers to her lips, sucking them of Vi’s wetness.
“You can take the blindfold off now, darling,” Caitlyn says.
“I might keep it on while you sit on my face,” Vi replies. “As a birthday treat to me.”
Caitlyn can’t help but smile. “As you wish.” She swings her legs over Vi’s chest and gently lowers herself right over Vi’s waiting tongue. Vi grabs her ass and all but forces Caitlyn to sit directly on her face.
Every time they do this, Caitlyn is scared she’s going to suffocate Vi, but Vi just keeps her hands steady on Caitlyn’s ass and works her until she’s a quivering mess. Much like she’s doing right now.
Caitlyn grips at the headboard tightly. She rolls her hips down, chasing the feeling of Vi’s tongue flicking against her clit. She moans as she comes, Vi’s hands keeping a firm grip on her ass, the only thing truly keeping Caitlyn steady right now.
“You taste better than my birthday cupcake,” Vi says as Caitlyn moves off her face. She licks her lips and then lifts the blindfold, shooting Caitlyn a wink.
“You’re incorrigible,” Caitlyn replies, but leans over and kisses Vi all the same.
“Yeah, but you love me,” Vi teases.
“In every single universe,” Caitlyn says seriously. She kisses Vi softly and then pulls back to blow the candle out. “Stay still while I get this wax off you. I’ll be as quick as I can.”
True to her word, she peels off each piece of wax as quickly and gently as she can. Vi’s skin is stained red in places from the wax, and she just shrugs it off when Caitlyn points it out to her.
“I’ll shower again tomorrow,” Vi replies. “Because right now, I want you to kiss me until I fall asleep, please.”
Caitlyn makes quick work of putting all of the wax pieces in the bin beside the bed and she climbs back in next to Vi. She gives Vi her last birthday wish, kissing her slowly until Vi falls asleep in her arms, a happy, sated smile on her face.
Caitlyn traces the bow of Vi’s lips with the pad of her thumb before settling down next to her, wrapped in the warmth of her wife’s embrace.
