if people looked at lapvona (myorar too) as a dark comedy theyed like it exponentially more. the sad girl coquettefiction of this book, and all of moshfeighs work really, is ruining how people perceive them. yes her characters are tortured and messed up people but her writing mocks them for it, youre not supposed to like them and youre not supposed to like or find her style beautiful. its brutal and mocking and thats the point. her work isnt ribbons and lambs but viscera and everything morally reprehensible

book rec drop!! currently reading ‘speak’, to be finished tomorrow! I’ve been told the ending leaves much to be desired but i’m not so sure just based off what I’ve read (like 150ish of 198 pages) tbd tbh
