Hairstyle Name: Kiremyouto Shimada (布夫婦島田) lit. “Clothed Married Couple Island Rice Field”
This hairstyle is a variation of the Shimada-mage and was another hairstyle available to married women of the merchant and artisan (i.e. shitamachi) classes. The key feature of this style is that it wraps a chirimen kanoko cloth around a kougai in the seat of the topknot.
