“Myrau,” she hears, as a gasp and a scream. She hears it as a call for protection. She hears it as a promise. She does not hear it as it is: terror.
“I am here,” she responds. She says it as an announcement and a shot to the head. She says it as a rally to arms. She says it as a due repaid. She does not say it as it is: a lie.
“Ghosts do not meddle with the living. Unless you manage to reclaim your physical host, you will learn to love the dark.”
“Tell me about the Guardian of the West,” Rylee says, taking a risk. “The Monster, Myrau.”

while i know i’ve been,, behind on answering ask games, i got tagged by both @bigmoodword (on my main, just moving it here), and @kaigods so.. here we go! answering a mash-up of the 15 questions as mira from the odes ;) question 2 is in an earth-au ‘cause.... why not

1. What is your full name?
“It’s just Mira. There aren’t very many of us deities that have last names.”
2. What does your name mean?
“There’s a lot of meanings, but my favourite take is from Latin, where it’s related to the word ‘wonder’.”
3. What are your other names?
“I don’t think I have any others! Mira is a very short name already, so I never needed to have a nickname.” She pauses, and laughs. “Well, Rylee likes to refer to me as ‘you there’, if that counts.”
4. What is your gender?
She hums. “Well, none of us from Noea have very strong opinions on gender. I guess I would say I relate most to being female, though.”
5. What is your sexuality?
“That’s for me to know and for you to find out, isn’t it?” She strikes a pose for a solid two seconds, before bursting into laughter. “Well, in all seriousness, I’ve never really thought about it.”
6. Where are you from?
“Like I said, I’m from Noea, which is the sort of sister-planet to Aeon. Very generic names, yes, I know. When Riya sent out the ask for help, it was my brother who decided to come, I just followed along. From there, I met Rylee, who I’ve been supporting since.”
7. How old are you?
“Oh, good question! Another thing we don’t really track, I suppose. I grew up with Myrau, though, and it’s been a few hundred years since she left, so... more than that?”
8. How would you describe your appearance?
She turns and makes a face at Rylee, who grins. “I’m humanoid mist. There’s not much to describe, is there?”
9. You can change your appearance at will, so why don’t you pick a human form like the other deities have?
“I’m not very strong, compared to the others. Especially since I’ve lent a lot of my power to Rylee, there’s not much left for me. It takes a lot of energy to maintain my presence here at all, in fact, so I’m just too occupied.”
Rylee snorts. “You’re just easier to find like this.”
“I don’t get lost!”
10. What was your first impression of Rylee?
“Driven,” she answers, without hesitation. After a pause, she continues, “It was right after Tyren had died, and Maril was convincing her to lead Ermyre. I knew immediately she would be a good candidate.”
11. Why did you follow your brother to Aeon?
“Why wouldn’t I have? There’s nothing to lose, and after Myrau, well... we stay close to our family.”
12. Do you have any other family besides your brother?
“Well, Carena almost raised the entire Palace City, back when it was being built, so in a sense she could be our mother. But I was never that close to her, so I wouldn’t say so. Ben might, though.”
13. What’s your alignment?
“My alignment? Oh... Lawful Neutral, I’d say.”
“That’s all you’re going to say?” Rylee demands, from beside her.
She smiles.
14. Describe yourself in two words.
“One? Well, that’s hard. My first instinct would be ‘pensive’. There are a lot of qualities that I share with Rylee, to be honest--”
“What? No, you don’t.”
“--but the main difference is that I think before I speak.”
“Oh, now that’s rude.”
15. If you were to say one thing to Myrau, what would you say?
oooh good question. that’s. a really good question, actually. hm. i haven’t actually written much for decadence, so i’ll avoid answering any of those characters. i’m really fond of the deities in the odes/quiet terms (yes i’m making a title change for that wip) -- myrau, amara, riya, among others -- but i’m not really sure if that translates to enjoying writing them? i find straightforward characters the easiest to write, though, so probably one of those. tyren, maybe? or myrau; she’s also very abrasive, which can be fun at times. thank you for the ask!
