Liane frowned, but picked up the cue well enough. This was not a conversation that the snow queen wanted to have and thus it was a conversation not to be. Dragging the topic kicking and screaming from the icy roots of her hair would do no good. Entertaining? Oh, plenty. But it would just serve to widen the gap.
So, she shrugged.
“Yeah, they are pretty childish,” Liane agreed. “Especially when there’s no basis to them. Glad we see eye-to-eye on that.”
Well, eye-to-a-full-foot-of-air. But she doubted that Weiss would appreciate the mention of how Liane was very literally looking down at her. Or how she had to consciously slow her stride just so Weiss could keep pace with her.
Y’know, if she didn’t know any better, she’d guess that Weiss was threatened or something. But for the life of her, Liane wasn’t sure why. So yeah, she did know better.
“I didn’t just come to have a heart-to-heart,” Liane lied. That was exactly why she had come here, but it was obvious to her that Weiss would shut down anything that wasn’t strictly business. So... what kind of business would a Mistrali general have with the heiress trying to rebuild the SDC... or was Weiss still on her globe-trotting quest? It was so hard to keep track.
Wait, she had an idea for a topic! One that she actually cared about too, go figure.
“The Atlesian survivors,” Liane settled on, “What happened to them? You would have seen them more recently than anyone here. Only news we got this far removed from Atlas and Vacuo was that there were survivors and that, well, you kind of died. But evidently not.”
