on days when i do The Makeups: drawing on the winged liner + red lips. it’s so damn satisfying.

most other days: after The Husband goes to sleep, i spend about 2 hours writing and having #alone time & it’s lovely :)

@myslumberingheart this shoooooooow!! Have you watched season 2 yet? I had watched s1 when it first dropped (binged and loved it) but, kinda just didn’t reblog or talk about my feelings at all? I’m all up in my feelings about s2 though (binged it, love it), which is why my queue has been nothing but “lost in space” content. I love the Robinsons. I love Maureen and John. My gods do I love them. And Don West? *chef’s kiss* No pressure, Jenny, but please do feel free to share your “lost in space” feelings with me.

i /just/ discovered the DELIGHT of hallmark xmas movies. my life will never be the same.

i’m delighted by your delight! i’ve watched A LOT of hallmark xmas movies. last christmas my sister and i watched pretty much every single one in their lineup and we definitely have our faves that we’ve watched multiple times since then. 

here’s some hallmark xmas movie recs (that you definitely didn’t ask for but i’m giving you anyway because i’m excited and you’re new to the joys of these movies): 

a princess for christmas: 

highlights include: bby sam heughan and katie mcgrath, surprise royalty trope, and a royal christmas ball where katie looks amaaazing. goood shit. 

i’d give it a solid 5/5 snowflakes; hits all the right tropes

once upon a holiday: 

highlights include: secretly royalty and runaway princess tropes, a magician, and biana evigan’s face

definitely merits a solid 3.5 christmas cookies 

crown for christmas:

highlights include: a dope ass governess, a tiny princess who just wants someone to be her friend, a royal ball where, le gasp, the royalty dances with the governess.

this one earns itself 4 outta 5 jingle bells

edit: rachel says this is worth 6 outta 5 jingle bells at least, i see her point

snow bride:

this one is so damn good? tabloid reporter pretending to be runaway bride pretends to be someone’s girlfriend. it’s like hallmark trope inception. and it’s gr9. 

highlights include: katrina law. which is the only thing i needed to know before wanting to immediately watch the thing.

i rate snow bride an easy 5,000,000 sugar plum fairies

window wonderland:

highlights include: enemies to lovers trope, “he’s hiding something but it’s not what you think”, and “she’s hiding something but it’s not what you think”, “barely friendly competition”, trapped in a department store!

5/5 jumbo candy canes

the mistletoe promise:

highlights include: “best use of the fake dating trope”, friends to lovers trope, and it’s just such a ridiculously cute movie

definitely earns 5/5 gingerbread ladies

the nine lives of christmas:

this. one. is. my. favorite. i’ve. watched. it. 6. times. 

highlights include: cats! seriously. there’s cats. also accidental roommates trope, smart capable lady, will they won’t they, and a hot firefighter.

this one earns 7 outta 5 reindeer because i like it that much

mkay. there’s more i super like but imma stop now because this feels excessive now . . . ENJOY THE HOLIDAY CHEER AND WHAT NOT.

YES! GOOD! I too suffer from “A Very Serious Oscar Isaac Problem” and tbqh at this point following me is basically acquiescing to boarding a one way train into Oscar “Awkward and Erotic” Isaac Hell (you’ll love it there and want to die all at the same time, it’s great).

Ok I have a pretty dumb question re: the X Files

Is the conceit of this show that Dana Scully, beauty though she may be, is an actual idiot?

Because growing up I guess I thought the X Files were ambivalent about the possibility of the paranormal, that each episode ended on a note of creepy uncertainty.

But like, three episodes in, we have aliens confirmed to us and also confirmation of an immortal serial killer???

Is this show a decade of Scully being a willful dumbass while Mulder pouts and explains things??
